Too Much, Too Fast Part II
“How did you do that?”
“Easy.” He shrugged. “I’m old and I know a lot of tricks.”
Rafferty rubbed her back, “I’m sorry, Jacqueline.”
“What?”
“I’m sorry. I realize now we got swept up in the excitement and the thrill of our mate and we didn’t check in to see if it was what you really wanted. We took your body’s signals as consent instead of really listening to the words you were saying.” Rafferty kissed her cheek softly. “I am so very sorry for getting carried away.”
“Me too,” Wilder said seriously as he lifted her chin to stare into her eyes. “I could smell you were turned on by your mates, and I instantly wanted to be with you. I pushed it too far. I apologize my mate.”
She sunk into their embrace, “I’m not comfortable with any of this. I’m struggling and you both keep pushing me. It’s been a couple of hours, and you’ve managed to get me on a table. I don’t want this. It’s two against one and it’s not fair.”
“Okay, okay,” Rafferty consoled her softly, “we’ll back off. We MIP. No more sexual stuff until you make the first move.

male.”
“I mean not right now, obviously because she’s scared and feeling like it’s too much but you’re saying in a week or so if she’s still not making the first moves we can’t pull out all the stops?”
“That’s what I’m saying.”
“Speak for yourself.” Wilder said with a grunt and looked at his mate seriously, “I will not initiate sex but I’m going to be making sure you know I want you. I’ll give you a couple of days to acclimate but then I’m making sure my mate knows how much I
want her.”
“I don’t want you touching me uninvited.”
“What about like this, to comfort you?”
“I don’t usually let anyone touch me.”
“But we’re your mates,” Rafferty pouted.
“Unless I reject you.”
Both sets of arms fell away, and they stared hard at her.
“That’s not something to joke about. You would curse us to a
lifetime of solitude.”

“You need to talk to a priestess and find out why you’re not feeling the full extent of the bond.” Wilder said very matter of fact as he regarded her with red tinting his cheeks and his breath in puffs. “It is supposed to be the same level of need between all of us. I know what he’s feeling,” he motioned to Rafferty, “because it’s what I’m feeling and vice versa. We don’t know what you’re feeling because you are clearly not needing us as
much.”
“Because I could stop the sex?”
“It’s not just the sex!” Wilder snapped angrily. “It is this deep, unbridled feeling in my soul which is pulling me to you and wanting to be with you. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically connected. I want to know everything about you from your favorite color to your favorite sexual position and everything in between. I want to know what your favorite taste is, and I want to know how long the taste of you lingers on my tongue. It’s a need in here,” he punched his belly, “a longing, a desire to know you down to your DNA. It is not making any kind. of sense to me that you don’t want to learn everything about us, to be with us, to be connected to us. You are fae and I know you are fae, but you are not responding as a typical fae. A fae would feel this pulsing, all–consuming need and be desperate to fill it.”
Rafferty nodded his agreement, “yes. It is odd that you are not compelled to want to remain at our side. Fae don’t usually throw around the word rejected. It is taboo and bad luck to most gf/us. I only know of one fae couple who in my lifetime ok99:19

“Why did she reject him?”
Wilder made a face, “he was an older fae. He’d never met his mate. He was at his youngest sister’s wedding and got very drunk, jealous and rageful over the fact his sister fifty years his junior already found her mate and his was still out there. He went to the lake and threw a couple of fireballs, he’s an elemental fae, not knowing anyone was out there. An older man was walking around the lake, and he struck him in the chest and killed him. When the family of the man showed up to confront him at the jail, the daughter of the dead man pushed his chest and the bond formed. He was her mate. She was horrified and she rejected him on the spot. Guilt drove him to return her rejection.”
“That’s horrible!” Jacqueline was horrified. “What a horrific situation.”
“It is horrific. He killed his mate’s father by accident and in doing so, he ended up losing everything. Those are the reasons fae reject each other, not because of fear or feeling overwhelmed.” Wilder’s phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out. “Fairchild is in the building.”
“Already?”
“Yes. We’re going to have to wing it since you didn’t get to practice the pitch.” He looked at Rafferty, “while we’re doing this pay a visit to the priestess and find out what you

Wilder took her by the hand. “It’s show time.”
