TYLER POV
I don’t know how long I had been here for but when I started coming to I knew that I was tied while standing up and I didn’t know where I was. Everything was a blur but I heard a lot of noise around me. There were people everywhere, loud music, like a massive party happening right where I was.
I slowly opened my eyes and sneaked a peak and I could tell that I was still in that same mansion and I was surrounded by vampires. Vampires partying, vampires feeding on people, willing people. Vampire groupies. It was disgusting. But when one started approaching me, I closed my eyes again and pretended like I was still unconscious.
He walked right up to me and grabbed a hold of my face and then splashed freezing cold water on my face. That got my attention and woke me up really quickly.
I heard everyone whooping and cheering when I woke up and the vampire standing in front of me was no Angelo. I didn’t know who this was.
"Look at what we have here. A werewolf decided to step into my territory." The man yelled.
"I was just looking for someone." I say.
"And who might that be?" He asked getting right in my face.
"Angelo Andres." I say. And with that everyone shut up and looked straight at me.
"Angelo isn’t welcome here anymore." The man says.
"I was told that this is where I could find him." I say. And he turns to look at the others laughing.
"Well, you were told wrong. Whoever told you that, wanted to get you killed." He says.
"Well, I will definitely be taking them up on that. Have you got a name?" I asked.
"It’s Mitchell." He announced.
"I’m Tyler. I just came to New Orleans looking for my mate. She’s here looking for Angelo. That’s all there is to it. Once I find her then we will be out of here." I explained.
"And why is your mate looking for Angelo? What is a wolf’s interest in that vampire?" Mitchell asked.
"I don’t know. She wouldn’t tell me." I lied.
"I don’t believe that. I know all there is to know about werewolves. And I know that the mate bond is stronger than that." He says.
"She’s only 17. She doesn’t feel the mate bond yet. Not until she’s 18." I explained.
"Well, that isn’t good for you. No mate bond to actually feel her pull. That would have to be pretty hard on you." He says.
"Yeah. I guess so. Just let me down so I can go find her. She’s all I care about and all I’m here for." I explain.
"Well, no can do their boss. You see, we aren’t from your fancy part of the woods. We don’t care about your rules and regulations where you come from. We do what we please down here in Louisiana. And wolves aren’t welcome here in this part of New Orleans. You should have learnt the rules before you came here." Mitchell says.
"Yeah. I guess so. That was pretty ignorant of me. I will know better next time I leave my territory." I say.
"Oh know sir. There won’t be a next time. Because you won’t be leaving here." Mitchell yelled and the crowd cheered and hollered at what he was saying.
"What are you going to do to me?" I asked.
"Any goddam thing we want." He hooted and everyone else hollered.
They had their fun and games with me through the night. Mostly taunting and telling me what they were going to do with me when they were finished with me. But they hadn’t actually started any torture or anything yet. Before we knew it, the sun was coming up and it was time for them to get down to bed. They all headed to the basement where it was darkened out with a sealed door while I was just left there to hang all day.
There was a large stick behind my back that I was tied to with really thick rope that I wouldn’t break through and no matter how much I tried to shift I couldn’t. They could have given me something. But I wasn’t sure what, I couldn’t feel or smell wolfsbane. Maybe it was something else that they cooked up down here in Louisiana.
I didn’t know what the hell I was going to do. I fought against my strengths for most of the day but I was stuck here. I was only wearing my tracksuit pants and they had taken my phone and everything that I had with me. So I didn’t know what the hell I was going to do.
As the day wore on the more I fought against my restraints, but I couldn’t get loose. And I started getting weak. And I could feel the blood running down my hands from trying to get out of the ropes.
I started passing out eventually and the first thing that came to my mind were those piercing blue eyes and that incredibly beautiful smile. I just needed her. I wanted her back. I needed to touch her. For her to let me know that she was alright.
**************************
"Tyler. Tyler. Can you hear me?" A voice asked me. I opened my eyes and I was in a meadow. Back in Maine where I belonged.
I looked up and Tessa was standing in front of be wearing a white sundress picking wild flowers.
"Tyler. Are you coming?" She asked. And I walked closer to her and slowly walked up behind her and rubbed my hand over the top of her hands as they were weaving through the long grass.
