TESSA POV
I slowly wake to the sun beaming in my bedroom and the sudden pain in my head has me hissing and grabbing at it like it is about to explode. I look around the room and everything is blurry at first before my sight comes into focus.
I notice that I am naked under the blankets and the events of the day before start flashing through my mind. The battle with the vampires. My wolf. The fire. Everything. And I jolt up quickly in bed before I feel a hand on my shoulder.
I look over and Tyler was sitting up next to me holding my arm. I must have woken him up when I jolted awake. And I threw myself at him and hugged him.
"What did I do last night?" I asked.
"You saved us. And it wasn’t last night. It was two night ago." He says.
"What?" I asked.
"You’ve been unconscious for two nights. And a full day yesterday." He says.
"Who did I hurt?" I asked.
"Only them. You didn’t hurt any of us. I promise. You saved our lives." He says.
"What happened? How the hell did I do that?" I asked.
"You don’t know?" He asked confused.
"No. I just remember getting really angry. Thinking that we were going to lose the fight. They were about to hurt you. They were ganging up on Bella. And then I lost control." I say.
"You didn’t lose control. You knew exactly who to attack and that’s where the fire was aimed at. You made sure that none of your family or friends were hurt. It’s alright baby. You didn’t do anything wrong. No one is angry with you...Gladys says that you tapped into one of the elements. Fire." He explained.
"Earth, wind, water and fire." I say.
"Exactly." He says kissing the top of my head. I pulled away from him and I look him in the face.
"I thought I killed everybody." I cried.
"You didn’t." He says wiping away my tears. He pulled me back down on to the bed and he put my head on his chest. " Everything is alright. You don’t need to worry. You saved us and stopped the battle. You killed them before they killed any of us." He continued trying to soothe me.
When we finally got out of bed I had a long hot shower and got dressed and we went downstairs to where the wolves were hanging around.
Bella raced up and hugged me gently. Not like when she first got here. And the others seemed to get in line to hug me as well.
"You had us worried sick women." Wyatt says.
"Sorry. I honestly don’t know what the hell happened out there." I say.
"You saved our goddamn lives, that’s what happened out there." Naomi says.
"None of you are scared?" I asked skeptically.
"At first, we were concerned. But then we realized that none of us were hurt. You directed all your anger at them. Not at us. We knew that we were safe as long as we were on your side." Elias explained.
"Thank you." I say.
"Tessa. Can I talk to you for a minute." Angelo asked. So I followed him into the other room and he leaned against a bench while I stood there awkwardly.
"What’s going on?" I asked.
"Tyler mentioned a few things to me the other day that haven’t really sat right with me. About the way Daniel raised you." He says.
"Tyler shouldn’t have said anything." I say.
"So it’s true. You obviously know what I am referring to." He says.
"Yeah. The three warriors. It’s nothing to worry about anymore. I killed them and then I killed my father. Their gone. They can’t hurt me anymore." I say.
"I know that. But that doesn’t change the fact that I heard you tell Tyler that I was keeping you locked up here like Daniel used to." He says.
"Did you really think that there was nothing wrong with you putting a barrier around this place so that I can’t leave?" I asked.
"Daniel stole you from me once. I didn’t want to lose you again. I thought that you might come around to liking this place and wanting to stay." He says.
"Angelo. I can’t stay here. You’ve always known that. But if you want a relationship with me then you will take down the barrier. We will still see each other. I’m sure of it. Especially with the way you get around the world." I say.
"I’m gonna hold you to that. And I don’t want Tyler’s wolves keeping me away from you on your territory." He says.
"Call me if they try and I will rip into them myself." I say and he smiles at that.
"Alright. I’ll call the witch and have her take down the barrier." He says.
"Why the sudden change of heart?" I asked.
"I refuse to be anything like Daniel." He says walking away.
I went back to the dining room and everyone was sitting down to breakfast and I was starving. I’d been asleep for so long and hadn’t eaten and I drank a lot of water that morning. Like I was severely dehydrated.
"Angelo is letting the barrier down. I want to start searching for Josiah." I announce and everyone at the table stopped talking and stared at me. " I’m sick of waiting for him to make the first move. We need to do something. And I want to make the first move now. He won’t expect it." I say.
"I don’t think that we’ll be able to find him. He has too many people in the city." Finn says.
"Well, we need to do something. I’m sick of sitting here like a sitting duck. Just waiting for him to attack us. We don’t know what sort of army he has, who he has working for him. How many vampires, witches, possibly werewolves. We just don’t know." I say.
"Maybe a scouting expedition might not be such a bad idea." Cade says.
"Alright. But we go during the daytime only. When we have the advantage over Josiah. Not over the shadow witch. But at least it will take care of half of our problem." Tyler says.
"Good. We leave after breakfast." I say.
"Don’t you want to rest for a bit?" Aria asked.
"No. I feel fine." I say.
So after breakfast we pulled out a map and we divided it into sections and we chose the groups that we would go in. Tyler obviously had me in his group and Carter and Aria. Mates weren’t going to be separated doing this sort of shit.
