Chapter 131
“Yeah,” he murmured. “I’ll be busy this morning. I’ll send a driver to pick you up when it’s
time.”
Amara’s eyes lit up. She tested the waters, “Do you usually… have a driver take you to work?”
“No.”
Jonah frowned, his gaze drifting to the door.
His assistant had arrived.
He let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “Amara, I have some things to handle. Let’s talk over lunch, okay?”
“Oh… alright then.”
Left with no choice, Amara hung up the phone.
She had dealt with her fair share of wealthy heirs and knew they despised clingy women. Maintaining a sense of boundaries was the only way to make a relationship last.
The thought of seeing Jonah later made her heart race with excitement. She glanced at the towering skyscraper behind her.
So…
Vivian, what do you have that could possibly compete with me?
A smirk tugged at Amara’s lips as she hailed a cab.
On the other side of the city, Jonah put his phone down. “What is it?”
“Mr. Granger, here are the files you asked for.” The assistant respectfully handed over a
manila folder.
“However… Miss Fairchild doesn’t seem to have any particular hobbies. I had someone visit her old school, and word is she visits a cemetery in the UK at the same time every year, sitting there all day.”
Jonah frowned. “A cemetery?”
“Yes, sir. It seems… that’s where her mother rests.”
Checking his boss’s expression, the assistant continued, “Dominic Fairchild sent her abroad when she was just a teenager. It caused quite a scandal at the time. Her mother’s ashes were also removed from The Fairchild Family and laid to rest in the cemetery she visits now.”
Jonah flipped through the documents, his tone unreadable. “Are you implying Vivian is too mysterious, or just too simple?”

“Well…”
“Well what?”
Smack.
Jonah slapped the folder shut. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes. “I asked you to find out what
she likes and what her favorite foods are. Is that so difficult?”
“…” It really was.
Otherwise, it wouldn’t have taken this long.
The assistant lowered his head in silence, unsure of how to respond.
Jonah pinched the bridge of his nose and waved a hand. “Get out.”
The information was completely useless. Vivian was practically a ghost. No hobbies, no special talents, and she hadn’t even participated in any college activities.
She just attended classes like clockwork until graduation.
Was she truly that boring, or…
Or had someone erased all traces of her?
Jonah narrowed his eyes. Vivian was right. He knew less than a fraction of what she knew
about him.
