Chapter 214
By nightfall, the city was enveloped in darkness. After days of relentless sunshine, the weather had taken a gloomy turn, heavy black clouds obscuring the sky.
Silas pulled up to his Southridge estate, his gaze instinctively sweeping toward the main house.
The lights were off. She wasn’t home yet.
Withdrawing his gaze, he opened the door and stepped out.
“Mr. Sterling, there’s one more thing,” Simon Young called out, leaning through the car window. “The CEO of Huxley Enterprises is hosting an equestrian event in Newport the day after tomorrow. She sent over an invitation.”
Audrey Huxley, the head of Huxley Enterprises, was an old classmate of his.
They had a history of getting on each other’s nerves.
Silas frowned. “I’m not going.”
“But she said if you don’t show up… she’s going to leak the photos of you wearing a dress when you were little.”
Simon’s voice grew progressively quieter as he spoke. He was terrified. Mr. Sterling in a dress?
Just speaking the words out loud made the back of his neck prickle with cold sweat.
The vein at Silas’s temple throbbed. He ground his teeth together.
“Fine. Let’s go see how she looks in a men’s suit!”
He turned on his heel and strode inside.
Simon patted his chest, exhaling a massive sigh of relief. Thank God he hadn’t stepped out of the car, or he definitely would have caught the crossfire of that rage.
Silas went straight upstairs and walked into his massive walk-in closet.
His loungewear was normally kept in the very first section by the door. After grabbing his clothes, he was about to step out when he suddenly froze, taking a few steps backward.
Every single shelving section was no longer a pristine array of black, white, and gray. His tailored suits were now squished against a woman’s designer coats. His trousers hung right next to flowing maxi dresses, and his button-downs were completely overwhelmed by an endless variety of colorful tops. The entire closet looked like a chaotic, blinding explosion of fabric.
Right at that moment, the click-clack of heels echoed up the staircase.

Chapter 214
Carrying her handbag, the woman practically floated into the room.
“I’m home!”
Silas whipped his head around, his sharp gaze locking onto her. “Care to explain what the hell this is?”
“What’s what?” Vivian blinked innocently. “They’re clothes.”
“Are you trying to mark your territory?”
“Who said anything about marking territory? We belong to each other, don’t we?”
Silas closed his eyes. The muscles in his jaw bulged dangerously as he clenched his teeth When his eyes snapped open again, the lethal sharpness in his gaze was enough to make anyone shiver.
He took a step forward and gripped her chin.
There was absolutely no tenderness in the movement. She let out a sharp gasp of pain.
“Does it hurt?”
“Obviously!”
She tried to pry his fingers away, but the man was clearly determined to teach her a lesson today. His hand felt like an iron vise.
Silas held her perfectly still, forcing her to look him in the eye. “I’m giving you twenty minutes. If your clothes aren’t separated from mine by the time I get out of the shower, I’m sending you straight back to the manor to live with the old man.”
“No.”
