Back in the car, Vivian slammed the door shut with a deafening thud.

Zoe instantly knew something was wrong. She started the engine and waited until they were cruising smoothly down the road before asking, "Boss, I saw Amara go inside. Did she make things difficult for you?"

If only it had just been difficult.

Vivian closed her eyes, massaging her throbbing temples. "She's finally dropped the act with me. But knowing her nauseatingly fragile persona, she'll probably just put on an even more sickening performance for Dominic. As for the Stella Pendant..."

"It's with Amara. I have to find another way to get it, and fast."

Vivian shook her head. "Even if it was there before, she would have moved it immediately."

Amara absolutely despised her. If there was even the slightest chance of Vivian finding it, Amara would eliminate that possibility before it even formed.
