Chapter 259
Sienna was young. Facing off against a seasoned corporate executive like Zoe, her face instantly drained of color, her trembling lips betraying her sheer terror.
She brought a hand to her face, tears flowing uncontrollably.
Zoe frowned. “What, cat got your tongue?”
“…”
Sienna opened her mouth, the truth lodged in her throat.
She nervously glanced at Vivian. Because Vivian rarely managed the company’s frontline operations, very few people knew she was the owner of Astra Media.
“Why are you looking at me?”
The tiny stool was incredibly uncomfortable.
Vivian leaned back lazily. She didn’t know what cabinet she bumped against, nor did she care, simply finding a relatively comfortable angle to lean on.
“You’re all alone in Northside. If the Gifford or Fowler families apply even a fraction of pressure, the odds of you holding your ground are slim to none. I get it. But understanding your situation doesn’t mean I accept you taking their money to ruin me. Understand?”
Those words shattered whatever composure Sienna had left. Her tears spilled over completely.
She had never wanted to do this.
The pay at the studio was decent, and Astra Media frequently handed out bonuses and subsidies. She knew the boss of Astra Media was a good person.
She… she had made a terrible mistake.
“I-I’m sorry… I’m so sorry.”
Vivian leaned forward abruptly, closing the distance between them until her striking face was dead center in Sienna’s vision.
“Do you realize that apologizing after the fact is about as useful as commenting on the weather? Everyone in my company was sent home today. From this moment on, my company will be the butt of every joke in this city. Even if we clear our name, the brand is tainted. Do you understand the gravity of that?”
Her voice wasn’t loud. In fact, it bordered on gentle.
But the sharp, unyielding sincerity piercing through her eyes made Sienna want the floor to swallow her whole.
Sienna shook violently, wanting to say something but unable to find the words. The boss was right. Words were useless now… The damage was done. She had just checked Twitter; the timeline was flooded with people cursing Astra Media.
Vivian sat back up, her demeanor returning to an effortless nonchalance.

Chapter 259
“You felt you had no backing and couldn’t fight them. Yet instead of coming to me or calling the cops, you took their money… How much did they pay you? Did you really think I couldn’t outbid them?”
“In this day and age, even hardened criminals walk on eggshells to survive. Yet you had the nerve to blatantly frame me in broad daylight. Are you that brave, or just that stupid?”
By the time the last word dropped, Sienna’s defenses had entirely crumbled. She collapsed onto her
knees.
Covering her face, she sobbed hysterically.
“I’m sorry… I’m so, so sorry!”
