Chapter 326
The lights flickered on.
A man dripping with lethal intent shot a terrifying glance backward. “Get out!”
Two simple words, laced with absolute fury.
Realizing exactly what was happening, Simon immediately pulled the door shut and stood guard outside in the hallway.
Silas delivered a brutal kick to the man on the floor, simultaneously grabbing his suit jacket and tossing it over Vivian. Without missing a beat, he scooped her up into his arms.
His eyes swept over the hospital bed. The messy, torn sheets made it excruciatingly clear what had just transpired.
Vivian tilted her head up. Half of her face was already swollen, a thin trail of blood trickling from the corner of her lips. Her eyes were bloodshot.
She was dressed only in her bra, and the zipper on her skirt had been torn halfway down, revealing her black underwear beneath.
She wasn’t crying, but the hollow, devastated look in her eyes was infinitely worse than tears. It burned like acid against Silas’s chest.
He had just opened his mouth to speak when the woman weakly raised her arms and wrapped them around his neck.
She pressed her face against his chest.
Her voice wasn’t overly dramatic, just hauntingly quiet, though she couldn’t hide the tremor.
“You finally came.”
Silas pressed his lips together, an indescribable knot tightening in his gut. His grip around her tightened fiercely. “Yeah. I’m here.”
With that, his glacial gaze shifted toward the man bleeding on the ground.
That first punch had practically shattered Harrison’s nose. Blood was pouring down his face in sheets.
He clutched his face, groaning in agonizing pain, unable to form a coherent word.
Silas’s pitch-black eyes held zero warmth. He raised his foot.
The first kick landed squarely on Harrison’s shoulder, sending him crashing back into the floorboards.
The second kick connected brutally between his legs.
