Ten minutes later, the doctor came to give Vivian a checkup.
Simon arrived as well, taking the opportunity to report on the company's work schedule.
After they finished talking in the hallway, Silas cast a dark glance inside. The woman was sitting on the edge of the bed, listening intently to the doctor's instructions.
He withdrew his gaze and said in a low voice, "Go into the ward and pack the things. There's an old set of my clothes in the cabinet; take them and dispose of them."
Simon looked up in surprise, then quickly lowered his head.
"Understood."
The two walked in one after the other. Vivian had just finished listening to the doctor's nagging and looked up at them. "What were you guys whispering about at the door?"
"Saying how you've gotten fat staying in the hospital for a few days."
"...What?"
Vivian quickly touched her face, standing up to twirl in front of the window pane. "Did I gain weight? I don't feel like I did... Plus, I haven't been eating that much every meal, right?" But it was true that she had barely moved these past few days, so gaining weight made sense.
She wrinkled her nose, her good mood about being discharged completely vanishing.
"Starting tomorrow, will you work out with me to lose weight?"
Silas caught a glimpse of Simon's movements out of the corner of his eye and scoffed lightly, "Do I look like the type?"
Like the type to keep her company?
Vivian let out a dramatic gasp. "You're so ungentlemanly!"
She crossed her arms, puffing her cheeks in anger. "Other CEOs are such sweet, considerate men who do whatever their beloved woman wants. What about you? You just scold me or yell at me all day. Not being sarcastic is already considered gentle for you."
"You said it yourself, 'beloved woman.'"
"..."
Oh.
Vivian rolled her eyes, deciding not to dwell on it. She turned to Simon and said, "Are you done packing? Let's go if you are. I need to get back and lose weight. I can't be thrown into the cold palace before I even win your boss's heart."
