The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 362

"Nothing else?"

"Nothing."

She held up her hand. "I swear."

Silas's expression barely shifted, maintaining that air of aristocratic aloofness. It was as if he disdained knowing her whereabouts, let alone caring about her promises.

Vivian had finally figured it out. Silas wasn't just afraid of clinginess; he was also incredibly repressed and stubbornly proud. Even if he cared deeply for her, he would never admit it aloud.

Her eyes darted playfully as a bright smile bloomed on her lips.

"Are you still busy? When are we going to sleep?"

"Now."

"...?"

Before Vivian could even process the word, the man stood up with her securely in his arms. His tall, straight posture cast a long shadow across the floor as he walked.

Back in the master bedroom, he tossed her onto the mattress.

Then, his brows knitted together.

"Go take a shower."

After dropping the command, he pulled back the covers, laid down, and went to sleep.

Vivian was speechless.

She thought this man was acting completely bizarre, but since he was actually showing her some warmth, she had no reason to complain.

Quickly darting into the bathroom for a shower, Vivian returned and slid right into the man's embrace.

His eyes were closed, but the hand resting forcefully on her waist slid up a fraction, pulling her even flush against him.

Vivian's lips curled into a smile. It was a dreamless, peaceful night.

Silas's massive shift in attitude over the past two days left Vivian in a phenomenal mood.

When she woke up the next morning, only Martha Gable was downstairs.

"Morning, Mrs. Gable."

"Good morning, miss."

Martha studied the radiant look on her face and smiled. "Mr. Sterling left for the company bright and early. He didn't have breakfast, but he instructed me to make yours."

Vivian thanked her and pulled out a chair to sit down.

As long as it wasn't plain oatmeal and dry toast, she could eat just about anything with enthusiasm.

"Miss, have you and Mr. Sterling... made up?"
