Dominic's face flushed a furious red, anger boiling over. "Are you saying you're cutting ties with the Fairchilds? Vivian! You really think you're untouchable now, don't you?!"
"I'm not untouchable, but I am leaving."
Finding him too loud, Vivian held the phone a little further away from her ear.
"As for you... my dear father, it wasn't easy raising me all these years. I left you a little gift, consider it repayment for raising me."
With that, she hung up. Dominic was just about to call back when his phone buzzed with two text messages in quick succession.
One was a share transfer agreement for Astra Media.
The other was an investment confirmation letter from Fairchild Enterprises.
The deal was sealed. He had signed it with his own hands.
Thinking back to the documents Vivian had asked him to sign not long ago, Dominic felt a suffocating wave of regret.
He collapsed onto the floor, muttering, "It's over... It's all over!"
On the other end, Vivian handed the phone back to Zoe Hunt after hanging up. "Throw this SIM card away. Don't let him call again."
Due to her work, Zoe always kept two phones on hand, so tossing a SIM card was no big deal.
"Got it."
She agreed, then asked, "Miss Fairchild, what about Dr. Granger..."
"I've already written him a farewell letter. It's scheduled to automatically send to his phone exactly when his flight takes off."
Vivian's lips curled into a smirk. She picked up a blanket nearby and handed it to her. "Get some sleep. We'll be in Northside by the time you wake up."
Those two flight tickets were nothing but a smokescreen to confuse Jonah.
Vivian had booked a private car to Northside ages ago, taking the state highway.
Though it would take a bit longer, Jonah would never expect her to leave using such an old-school method.
Things played out exactly as Vivian predicted.
Jonah had exhausted every resource at his disposal, yet he still couldn't find a single trace of her.
In the airport's security room, his assistant was sweating profusely. "Mr. Granger... do you think Miss Fairchild just set up a smokescreen? Maybe she never intended to leave Southampton at all. Hiding in plain sight?"
