Not long after Silas left, Martha Gable returned. She brought a massive haul of local specialties from her hometown and eagerly introduced them to Vivian one by one.
"This peach gum is straight from our own trees. It's top quality, the kind you can't even buy in stores."
"And look at this... Miss Fairchild, don't let the ugly shape of this ginseng fool you. It's completely wild, excellent for boosting a woman's vitality—"
"Martha."
Vivian finally couldn't help but interrupt. "I know they're wonderful. Thank you so much."
Her sudden politeness caught Martha off guard. The older woman froze for a second before offering a warm smile. "Miss... it's just my job."
Vivian sighed softly. "Martha, I need to head to work now. You must be exhausted from the trip. Please, go get some rest."
Martha blinked, a slightly awkward smile forming. "Miss... are you annoyed by me? I'm sorry, I usually don't talk this much. It's just that Silas asked me to bring all these things back, so I thought I should explain them to you..."
"Wait. Are you saying Silas asked you to bring all of this back? Specifically for me?"
"...Yes."
"I see."
Vivian nodded, pulling out her phone and tapping the screen as she spoke. "You've worked hard, Martha. I wasn't sure what to get you as a gift, so please go pick something out for yourself."
Her phone buzzed. Martha checked the screen and gasped—Vivian had just transferred her a generous three thousand dollar bonus.
"Miss, Silas already paid for all the items. I can't possibly take—"
"Just take it. It's a token of my appreciation."
Vivian was suddenly in a fantastic mood. She even reached out and gave the housekeeper a quick hug.
"Martha, I'm off to work!"
Watching the woman's stunning yet delightfully childish figure bounce away, Martha couldn't help but smile. The house finally felt like a real home. Who knows, maybe there would be wedding bells ringing soon?
Vivian was completely oblivious to Martha's matchmaking thoughts. She drove her flashy Ferrari to the office, only to run into Jonah again.
This time, he was waiting by the elevator. Dressed in a meticulously tailored silver suit, his tall frame stood out in the lobby. He held a high-end gift bag and looked like he was about to head upstairs.
When Jonah spotted her, he stepped away from the crowd.
