And Jonah?
Decency?
He looked sharp in a suit and carried the prestigious title of a doctor, but he didn't possess a shred of humanity.
Even now, wasn't he still popping up out of nowhere to harass her?
Vivian smiled softly, choosing not to argue with her.
Mentioning Silas suddenly reminded her that they hadn't spoken all day.
She opened iMessage.
The last text in their thread was from him.
Yesterday, asking what time she was getting off work.
This realization inexplicably put Vivian in a great mood. She quickly typed out a message and tacked on a cute sticker at the end.
After waiting a few moments with no reply, she put her phone away and closed her eyes to rest.
By the time she arrived home, her phone remained completely silent.
Vivian handed the keys to Zoe. "Just drive the car back to your place tonight. I'll have Silas take me to the office tomorrow."
Zoe stared at the fiery red Ferrari. It had only been two days, and the paint still gleamed with a lavish, intimidating shine.
This was a romantic gift from Silas. Was it really appropriate for her to drive it?
Hesitating, she asked, "Miss, is your old Phaeton still around?"
"..."
After Zoe drove off, Vivian headed upstairs.
A faint light spilled from the study, meaning Silas was likely still buried in work. She tiptoed down the hall, but just as she reached for the doorknob, she paused, catching the sound of his voice.
"Dad, if you're really that worried, why don't you come back and see for yourself?"
"Of course."
"No."
Whatever the man on the other end said, Silas's handsome profile softened with a faint, confident smile. "Grandpa might have picked her, but I'm the one who chose to marry her. It doesn't matter if Mom approves. As long as I do, that's enough."
"Alright. Once you've settled your schedule, I'll bring her to meet you."
