The Stand In Wife’s Revenge
Chapter 74
Voices were chatting, heels clicking on the floor and the gentle rustle of fabric filled the room. However I never took my eyes off of her. Ava!. I was powerless to stop myself. I watched her every step and move after the practice and I was mesmerized by how graceful and effortless she had become.
She’d succeeded. Every piece of advice and criticism she received was transformed into something far better than I could have ever imagined. She had evolved into a symbol of strength as well as beauty.
However the way Ava stood there composed and powerful and the way she moved sent all of my thoughts racing. Her body was the ideal illustration of the change she had experienced and her steps were deliberate and measured.
She was starting to captivate me and I couldnt look away. I couldnt resist observing her. I watched her every move every step and the way her body moved gracefully but with an intensity that was nearly unbearable. She was extraordinary. The way her chin was raised just the right amount the gentle intensity of her eyes as she rehearsed the stance. It felt like the first time someone had ever stepped into their own skin.
It was more than merely observing her though. It had to do with her demeanor. I had met the woman a few weeks prior but she was not the same person now. No this Ava was unquestionably strong. She was the one in front of me learning how to walk and hold herself. I sensed that she had changed.
Her eyes glowed with a fresh energy that was appropriate for her but that I had never seen before. She was chatting with the other women the designer and
the modeling coach and her smile was naturally endearing as they conversed and laughed.
She had acquired a magnetic quality. Something else. She exuded confidence beyond my wildest expectations. She shone bright. As I observed her
interacting with the women around her I felt a tug deep within my chest a constriction that left me gasping for air.
She seemed to come alive when she laughed as evidenced by the slight change in her posture and the way she held herself. Now the hesitant and indecisive Ava I had first met seemed so distant. With such grace she was transitioning into this new self and I felt as though I was the one who didnt belong.
Everything around me seemed to pause for a moment as her eyes swept across the room and briefly locked with mine. Time stopped and we were the only two with our eyes fixed on each other in a silent comprehension that I was unable to fully understand.
The outside world vanished and I was unable to think or breathe. She was dazzling, she was so beautiful and powerful. Those were the qualities she had once possessed before all this drama came on.
The connection vanished as fast as it had begun. Her lips curled into a smile as she returned her focus to the

With every second that went by the gap between us became more charged and my chest felt constricted. I couldnt take my eyes off of it even as the others started to walk away their chatter fading as they went. In the end Ava also distanced herself from the group.
She glanced in my direction and met my gaze again without hesitation this time. Our eyes/met and held and I found myself not able to look away no matter how hard I had tried to. She just seemed to have some sort of magnet that keep drawing me closer to her every single minute.
Her movements were confident and fluid as she approached me. I attempted but was unable to calm myself and steady my breathing. I tried so hard for my face to be expressionless as I watched her walk to me. I managed a thin smile.
Every step she took seemed like a dance because of the way she carried herself now and the fire in her eyes. She didnt waste any time in getting to me.
With a gentle yet sincere tone she said “Thank you.”
I was surprised by the sincerity with which her eyes met mine. Although it was unexpected I was thankful for its simplicity.

With a slight shrug I said “Its nothing…” even though it felt like so much more. “You were flawless.”
She cocked her head a faint smile teasing her mouth. “I have a long way to go yet.”
I started to reply that she was already more than enough but before I could finish my phone rang its high–pitched sound piercing the silence between us.
My heart thumping I looked at the screen. I felt a sharp increase in tension as the name flashed there the moments weight abruptly changing. I knew I had to respond but I hesitated for a moment not wanting to distance myself from her. I picked up the phone and coldly hovered my fingers over the screen apologizing silently.
Standing there still observing me was Ava. Her intense eyes were now tinged with curiosity as she stared at me. I inhaled deeply and tried to ignore the knot in my stomach as I stared at the phone.
