The Stolen Heiress: The Billionaires’ Little Star novel Chapter 41

Daisy shook her head.

"Why?" Quinn asked, his tone calm.

"I don't have anything to trade with you." Daisy tugged at her empty pockets.

Quinn found the kid fascinating.

She was much smarter than his own sister back home—a girl whose only hobbies were throwing tantrums and bullying others. At least Daisy acted like a rational human being.

A mischievous glint flashed in Quinn's eyes. "You do," he said deliberately. "Just give me the gift you're saving for Xavier, and we'll call it even."

That familiar, guarded look crossed Daisy's face again. She shook her head even harder. "No way."

Quinn stood up. "Fine. But you have the right to change your mind."

"I won't," the little girl replied, her voice firm despite its youthful pitch.

Quinn clipped his mic back on. "Let's go. Time for school."

She looked at him like he was an absolute idiot. "It's Saturday. There is no school."

Quinn was speechless.

Daisy washed her face, brushed her teeth, fed the chickens and the pigs, and then steamed some buns.

Instead of handing one straight to Quinn, she asked, "Will they give you food?"

"The production crew? No."

"If I don't feed you, you'll starve, right?"

"Exactly."

"Fine." Daisy sighed in defeat, handing over a bun with a disgruntled expression that clearly screamed she was betraying Xavier.

Quinn thoroughly enjoyed seeing her look so conflicted.

It was highly entertaining.

Much more rewarding than finishing any of his advanced coursework, which had long since bored him to tears.
