[The spot where I sleep was set up by Daisy herself. Go find somewhere else to sleep.]
[I hope you're not stupid enough to treat Daisy's grandpa like a good person. Don't let that old bastard take advantage of Daisy.]
[Stay the hell away from Daisy when you don't have a reason to be near her. Don't infect her with your utterly repulsive aura.]
...
[I'll be back soon.]
Endless streams of messages.
It proved Xavier was anxious.
Without blinking an eye, Quinn deleted all of them.
He suddenly felt it would be quite nice if Xavier never came back.
Quinn tossed the phone back to the director.
The director asked, "That's it? You're not going to reply?"
"Nothing to reply to," Quinn said flatly, walking back inside.
The night before, Quinn had indeed slept somewhere else because he hadn't wanted to be so close to a strange child.
But tonight, he was determined to sleep in Xavier's territory.
Noticing him rolling out his blankets, Daisy immediately pounced, pinning down the corners of the blanket tightly. "That's Xavier's. Don't touch it."
[Oh no, Daisy just keeps getting more and more endearing.]
[Standing next to her, Quinn looks like a total villain.]
"Do you know how low the temperature is going to drop tonight?" Quinn crouched down beside her and asked.
Daisy shook her head.
"I just checked my phone. 46 degrees Fahrenheit. If I sleep where I did last night, I'll freeze to death." Quinn stared into Daisy's eyes, his tone adopting a coaxing quality. "Do you want to watch me freeze to death?"
Daisy hesitated.
She slowly got up and whispered, "Then don't get Xavier's bed dirty."
Quinn's gaze flickered. He somewhat understood... why Xavier was so protective of her.
She was tough yet tender, retaining an innocence untouched by the secular world.
They quickly washed up and crawled into their respective beds.
Lying on the uneven ground, Quinn stared up at the pitch-black ceiling and said, "I watched a bit of the show before I came."
[Daisy's mom must have been such a gentle person.]
[She must have been educated too, right? Otherwise, how could she say something like that?]
[Was her mom a local? Based on how Daisy looks, her mom must have been gorgeous. Why would she settle down in such a poverty-stricken place?]
The live chat couldn't help but discuss it passionately.
"What about your dad?" Quinn asked again.
Daisy said, "I don't!" This time, her tone was fiercer. She truly didn't miss him at all.
"Don't you want him to come back?"
Daisy pulled down her blanket. In the faint moonlight, it looked like she had been crying.
After a long time, she said firmly, "I don't!"
Quinn switched to another question. "Did your mom teach you how to speak proper English?"
"Yeah," Daisy replied in a low voice.
"Was she from the city?"
"I don't know."
