Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 376 by Ansel Bick
Sylvia stirred her coffee in silence for a long moment before asking, "Did her father's passing take a massive toll on her as well?"
Jax nodded, explaining how Bianca and her mother had been bullied and humiliated by the Quinn family after Patrick Quinn died.
"She was beautiful and a top student, which naturally made people jealous. Kids target your weakest spot when they want to hurt you, so she was constantly mocked for not having a dad.
It made her increasingly cold and distant, focusing entirely on her studies."
Bianca's mother had remarried Jax's father simply because she wanted to give Bianca a complete home.
"Bianca treated my dad like her own, and he loved her like his own flesh and blood, so she's always considered me her real brother.
When she got that ten million from Mathis, she gave me three million without a second thought.
That might actually be the reason Mathis treated her so poorly."
Sylvia was highly perceptive when it came to human nature. She guessed that Mathis, a man with a pathological need for control, had completely misunderstood their sibling relationship and couldn't stand his wife treating another man so well.
That was likely why he had tormented her throughout their marriage.
"You can't blame yourself for that. Men like Mathis, who operate at the absolute peak of society, naturally have their guards up. Plus, he's incredibly paranoid. Honestly, he should probably see a therapist himself."
Jax scoffed, saying Mathis was too arrogant for that and looked down on everyone. He probably thought he was the most sane person on the planet.
"After my dad passed, my mom saw I had no one else, so she didn't kick me out. She worked herself to the bone providing for both of us.
That's why she fell ill. She passed away when she was barely fifty."
Jax's voice cracked. He choked back his emotions.
Bianca wasn't the only one struggling to let go of their mother's death; Jax was too.
His stepmother had given him the maternal love he had so desperately missed. His biological mother had died from complications during childbirth.
Her family had treated him like a murderer who had killed his own mother.
Highly empathetic, Sylvia handed Jax a tissue. "Mr. Holden, sometimes letting it out is better than forcing the pain down."
Jax didn't let the tears fall. Even when Mathis had pushed his company to the brink of bankruptcy, he hadn't cried.
He was the man of the house now. He had to protect Bianca.
"Dr. Mills, please, do whatever it takes to cure her as quickly as possible. Help her get back to normal."
Sylvia opened her laptop and briefly jotted down notes from their conversation on Bianca's file. She needed to dismantle Bianca's internal demons one by one.
A failed marriage couldn't be allowed to ruin a woman's entire life.
She still had so much life ahead of her.
"Don't worry. Even if I have to consult with specialists all over the world, I'll make sure she recovers."
