Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 378 by Ansel Bick
"Those beautiful moments will be etched into her heart forever, staying with her for the rest of her life."
Milo looked down and kissed her, pulling her close. He hated endings where lovers were torn apart by death, but hearing Bianca frame it that way brought him a strange sense of peace.
"Yeah, the little moments two people share are way more important than whether they make it to the end."
"Exactly. Life is unpredictable. Not every great love story gets a happy ending."
But Milo was fiercely absolute. "We will. You and I are going to have a happy ending."
Bianca smiled and kissed him. "Okay. We'll work hard for it together."
That night, Milo insisted on squeezing into Bianca's hospital bed, wanting to hold her while they slept.
Bianca knew perfectly well that very few men had the self-control of a saint, especially a man who was deeply in love with the woman next to him.
Sleeping in the same bed was a recipe for disaster.
Not wanting a moment of passion to ruin his future, she ruthlessly banished him to the companion bed.
"If we want this to last, we can't let a moment of impulse destroy everything we've built. My marriage is a ticking time bomb right now. Once that's out of the way, we can do whatever we want."
Milo hugged his pillow, looking pitiful as he settled into the other bed.
Even right before falling asleep, he couldn't help but complain, "It's still better when I'm holding you."
Bianca laughed. "What did you hug when you were single? A teddy bear?"
"I didn't have any needs back then. I'd hit the pillow and pass out. Maybe I should just get a custom doll made of you to hug to sleep every night."
Bianca laughingly called him a creep, and after a bit of playful banter, they finally turned off the lights and went to sleep.
What neither of them knew was that Mathis had been standing in the darkness outside, staring up at the hospital window for a long time, not moving until the lights went out.
Only then did he get back in his car and drive away. He had wanted to call her, wanted to march up there and see her, wanted to throw Milo out and take his place.
But he forced all those urges down.
He couldn't risk triggering her again.
The next morning, Sylvia and Jax arrived bright and early. Bianca had slept well, and the bone-deep exhaustion and dizziness from the medication a few nights prior had completely vanished.
Sylvia was thoroughly surprised to see Milo there. The man millions of women online were currently screaming for and calling their 'husband' was lounging in Bianca's hospital room in his pajamas.
He had stayed the night.
They were dating.
Sylvia shot Bianca an intrigued, gossipy look.
