The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 18

Kaelen slammed his hand on the table and stood up. "So insolent!!"

Juno remained completely still on the sofa, eyeing him coldly.

For a junior to act with such defiance, it was no wonder Kaelen lost his temper.

"Is this how you speak to your elders?!" Kaelen demanded, utterly baffled.

Juno wasn't the least bit intimidated. "You're the one who started being unreasonable."

"Trash from the outside will always be trash. You're feral to the bone. If you weren't Gwendolyn's daughter, I wouldn't have held back!"

"You're talking as if you're holding back right now," Juno chuckled.

Compared to Kaelen's furious, eye-bulging rage, Juno was the picture of perfect composure, effortlessly holding her ground.

Just then, a maid brought out some coffee.

Juno spoke up, "Drink some coffee, it'll help you cool down."

Kaelen swept the cup away and turned to storm out, nearly bumping into Rhiannon as she walked in.

Rhiannon froze for a moment.

Kaelen then remembered he had come today to pick up Rhiannon's drafts.

"Rhiannon, how are your drafts coming along?"

Rhiannon quickly pulled them out of her bag and handed them over. "Here they are, Uncle Kaelen."

Just as Kaelen took them, Rhiannon added, "Uncle Kaelen, Juno drew some too. She might want to participate. Why don't you take a look at hers as well?"

Kaelen was still seething. "Someone with such poor character could draw a masterpiece and I still wouldn't glance at it!"

Every word dripping with his absolute disdain for Juno.

He glanced back at the sofa, where Juno was sipping her coffee as if she hadn't heard a thing.

Kaelen rolled his eyes and stormed off.

In front of everyone, Rhiannon tried to advise Juno. "Why do you have to act like this? If you were nicer to Uncle Kaelen, maybe he'd give you a chance next time."

"I'm not in the habit of begging."

The word 'begging' was a sharp jab.

Rhiannon's face flushed pale with anger, yet in the end, she decided it wasn't worth lowering herself to Juno's level.

...

With the drafts finalized, the Jagger family began teasing small details in their promotional campaign.

"Wow, this looks incredible! Can't wait to grab one on launch day!"

"So excited!!"

The reporters nowadays had zero standards; even their flattering remarks were brain-dead.

As the interview wrapped up, a reporter asked, "Mr. Jagger, is there anything else you'd like to add?"

Kaelen smiled with his usual refined elegance, but his gaze shifted toward Juno in the distance. "Rhiannon has achieved so much at such a young age. She's humble and eager to learn, which makes me want to mentor her. Unlike some people, who have zero redeeming qualities yet act incredibly arrogant.

I don't mind confidence, but when confidence goes too far, it's just pure delusion!

I'll work hard to mentor Rhiannon into an even better jewelry designer. As for certain individuals, they can stay trapped in their own little world of self-satisfaction."

The smarter cameramen followed Kaelen's gaze and panned right over to Juno.

...

After the interview, Juno didn't leave with them.

Seeing this, Kaelen made a veiled insult, "It's late. Where does a young girl think she's going? The second she gets a chance, she runs off to hang out with shady characters."

Harrison looked displeased. He really didn't appreciate Kaelen talking like that.

Gwendolyn grabbed Harrison's arm, not wanting to see her brother and husband fight. She was just about to mediate, when Juno, who had already taken a few steps, suddenly turned back. Using her impressive height advantage, she looked Kaelen dead in the eye, her aura completely matching his. "I'm going to make you realize that some things can't be forced, no matter how hard you try to prop them up."

Before finishing, Juno fixed her deep eyes on Kaelen. "And you better cancel that second batch. Otherwise, you'll lose your shirt."

Kaelen scoffed. "Oh really? Do you genuinely believe the Corrington family is going to tank my sales?"
