The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 249

Juno stood up, stepping off the recliner. The massive doors swung open, and Morgan, along with the rest of the crew, was already waiting outside.

Behind the lenses of his gold-rimmed glasses, his eyes were filled with deep concern.

Her lips were pale, but her expression was absolutely merciless. "Lock down Skyreach Tower. I want every single person inside interrogated."

Morgan nodded firmly.

Skyreach Tower was a prime property owned by the Russell family.

At that exact moment, Belinda Russell was laughing and chatting with a group of wealthy socialites, occasionally pausing to discuss art with a few renowned painters.

The atmosphere was perfectly elegant.

Suddenly, someone brought up Juno. "I haven't seen her all day. It's like she vanished off the face of the earth."

Belinda set down her champagne flute with practiced, aristocratic grace. "She's a nobody. Not even worth mentioning. She acted so arrogant in front of me a few days ago, and now she's completely missing. I imagine the Corrington family must be dealing with some internal crisis."

The implication was crystal clear to anyone with half a brain.

The narrative she was spinning was that Juno had offended the Russell family, resulting in the Corrington family being quietly crushed.

The Russell family truly wasn't a force to be trifled with.

This casual flex proved just how much power the family wielded, and how far they would go to protect Belinda.

It was obvious to the girls that clinging to her was their best move.

As the socialites showered her with compliments, Belinda started to actually believe her own manufactured hype.

She kept going. "I'm sure she's incredibly stressed right now."

Miles, who had been listening to this delusional garbage escalate, couldn't stomach another insult directed at Juno. Deadpan, he cut straight into their circle. "She is incredibly busy, actually. Busy raiding your family's property."

He had just received the intel: Juno had led the Obsidian Court to completely lock down Skyreach Tower.

Half the city's elite were currently trapped inside, screaming bloody murder.

Before Belinda even had time to process or question the claim, she caught sight of her older brother rushing away with a group of their security personnel out of the corner of her eye.

He looked completely panicked. It had to be true.

Unable to sit still, she stood up immediately.

With the glasses on, he was Juno's ruthless business enforcer.

Without them, he was the terrifying rank-two assassin that made the underworld tremble.

Tristan Todd stood right next to him.

Rank number three.

She recognized a few of the others by reputation, though not intimately. What she did know was that every single person standing in that circle lived a double life.

One identity thriving in the sunlight, the other reigning in absolute darkness.

Any single one of them had the power to make entire nations sweat. Yet here they were, standing perfectly still in absolute reverence behind one person.

And that person was Juno!

She stood at the forefront, the undisputed sovereign of the Obsidian Court. Even Lucia Corbett was standing quietly at the very back.

Juno lazily spun a ring on her finger. "Tear room 206 apart."
