The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 303

The two families needed to sleep off the jet lag, leaving the villa complex as quiet as a graveyard.

Huge snowflakes drifted to the ground, piling up rapidly while the howling wind lashed at the barren trees.

Morgan escorted Juno to The Citadel. "Please get some rest, LORD. I'll stand guard."

Juno glanced back at him. "There's no need. Go back. The Obsidian Court isn't so fragile that it relies solely on you to run things."

Morgan stood his ground like a statue. Juno knew there was no talking him out of it.

The snow fell silently around them.

In some matters, Morgan followed her every command without question. But when it came to her safety, he was fiercely stubborn.

A faint, almost imperceptible frown touched Juno's lips.

Leaving no room for argument, Morgan avoided her gaze and bowed his head slightly. "Rest well, LORD."

With that, the tall man in black got into his car and smoothly drove off.

Juno rubbed her temples and pulled her coat tighter as she stepped into The Citadel.

Everyone around her was getting rebellious.

Her health had been steadily declining. She was constantly exhausted, and the biting cold seemed to seep right into her bones.

She took a hot shower, waiting until the warmth returned to her body before slipping into bed.

Checking her phone, she saw a message waiting for her.

[Arrived at the Yates estate. Everything is fine.]

Chuck Yates had traveled back separately. She typed out a quick reply and finally closed her eyes.

A heavy stillness settled over the Obsidian Court.

Having successfully settled the two families, Lucia sank into her plush bed with a satisfied sigh, her lips curling into a relaxed smile. Just as she thought she could finally get some sleep, a knock echoed from her door.

"Ms. Corbett, a large contingent has arrived outside the perimeter. They're from The National Court of Justice, demanding accountability for LORD bombing the Research Institute."
