The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 327

They were high up enough to see it perfectly. And because of the distance, the shockwave and dust didn't reach them.

Before the mushroom cloud could even dissipate, a massive barrage of fireworks shot into the sky.

It illuminated the entire night.

A man excitedly shoved his way to the front of the crowd. "Hey, hey, hey! That's our company's product!! Isn't it gorgeous?! So bright! These fireworks are our absolute bestsellers this year!!"

The crowd burst into laughter and cheers.

Bombing the General Affairs Council was the underlings' way of getting revenge for Morgan.

Juno cracked a faint smile and slipped away unnoticed.

She still couldn't reach Chuck, and her gut was screaming that something was wrong.

She hurried downstairs. Taking the glass elevator would expose her instantly, and she wanted her people to enjoy the night without worrying about her. So, she took the freight elevator.

She got off on the second floor and took the stairs, avoiding the crowded lobby on the first floor.

The moment Juno stepped out of the stairwell, she heard Gerda’s shocked voice.

"Mathea?!"

Juno immediately pulled herself back into the shadows of the stairwell.

Mathea was dressed in her usual heavy black cloak, the oversized hood obscuring half her face. The poor lighting made her features even more impossible to read.

"So this is where you've been."

From those two simple sentences, Juno realized the two women knew each other.

Mathea turned around and offered Gerda a deep, respectful bow. "Thank you."

Gerda hurried forward, gently reaching out to stop her. "There's no need for that between us."
