The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 41

That sudden, explosive curse made Babur feel a rush of vindication. If he could, he would have kicked the guy himself.

Rhiannon saw Juno walk in, secretly cursing her as brainless for taking such a hardline stance.

It was one thing to be arrogant on a normal day, but right now, she had zero backing—why was she picking a fight with them?

Manny straightened up, furiously slamming his grapes onto the floor. He whipped around with a vicious glare, only to immediately receive a stinging slap across the face from Juno.

"What are you getting so fired up about?"

The slap echoed with a crisp, resonant smack.

Manny was stunned senseless. For a moment, his brain couldn't process what had just happened.

The remaining guys had been about to step forward, but seeing this, they stopped dead in their tracks.

Babur stared in absolute shock.

Rhiannon couldn't process it either.

Juno walked into the hospital room carrying a pitcher of water, her scrutinizing gaze sweeping over the crowd. One look was enough to ensure they wouldn't dare make a move.

She set the pitcher down and took a seat on the sofa, her movements seamlessly fluid.

Manny's eyes bulged with rage. When had he ever been struck like this?!

And in front of so many people, no less!

"Who the hell are you?!"

"His sister."

Juno pointed at Babur on the bed.

Manny let out a furious, incredulous laugh. "You really think I won't touch you, don't you?!"

Juno's hand was right next to the fruit platter. She picked up the entire plate and hurled it squarely at Manny's face. "Who gave you the nerve to come act like an animal in here?"

"You!"

Juno stood up from the sofa so abruptly that Manny instinctively stumbled back a step in fear.

Juno narrowed her eyes, a dangerous aura radiating from her. "Let me ask you: did you beat Babur up like this?"

Manny puffed out his chest. "Yeah, I did! You want me to beat you up just like him?!"

Without another word, Juno slapped him again. "I wouldn't even dare beat him like that, and you did?"

Babur, still in the hospital bed, stayed quiet. The hell she wouldn't! Who was it that literally kicked him out of his wheelchair just a little while ago!

Still, his sister was looking incredibly badass right now!

Manny lost his mind. "You seriously think I won't lay a hand on you?!"

This bitch was pushing it too far!

The very next second, Juno kicked him straight out of the hospital room.

Gwendolyn Jagger, who had just arrived at the doorway: ...

Morgan and Miles were still aggressively nudging and shoving each other.

The murderous aura radiating from them kept their subordinates too terrified to even breathe.

"Why haven't you left yet?!" A vein throbbed at Miles's temple.

He couldn't stand having another man standing this close to him.

Morgan couldn't stand it either, but his voice was as smooth as a spring breeze. "I'm not leaving until the Boss gets over here."

Finally, after two full hours, Juno walked in—and then immediately stepped back out. "Why are you two blocking the door?"

Morgan unceremoniously shoved Miles aside, his expression darkening as he straightened his suit.

Utter disgust was written all over his face.

Morgan led the subordinates out. In the blink of an eye, the men had scattered and vanished.

Juno walked into the room, looked at Chuck, and said calmly, "I've seen you, so I'm leaving. Recover well."

Dissatisfaction instantly clouded Chuck's handsome face. "Where are you going?"

"I have to go back to school."

Chuck fell silent for a moment. Did Juno even need to attend school?

"What kind of school do you go to?"
