The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 75

Dirty tricks like this were common on the basketball court.

Guys who played regularly saw this kind of thing all the time.

So, Faye's little stunt didn't fool the majority of the crowd.

The boy who had just declared he would ask Juno out instantly darkened.

His oblivious friend next to him didn't catch what happened and slapped his back, laughing. "Hahaha, looks like even God thinks you two aren't a match!"

The boy ignored the joke and said grimly, "Number 26 intentionally slammed into Juno's lower back."

The friend's laughter died immediately. "Are you serious? What a sore loser."

The sudden commotion on the court drew a lot of attention.

The referee called a timeout and jogged over to check on Juno.

Faye shot a guilty glance at Rhiannon.

Rhiannon gave her a subtle look to stay calm.

Juno slowly straightened up, looked at the referee, and said coldly, "I'm fine. Let's keep playing."

The referee nodded and resumed the game.

Gwendolyn looked incredibly worried. "Can she still play? It looked pretty serious."

She couldn't even stand up straight a moment ago.

Harrison reassured her, "Have faith in our daughter."

Juno stood tall. Her narrow eyes locked onto Rhiannon and Faye, radiating pure, unadulterated hostility.

For the rest of the game, the International Trade Department got absolutely slaughtered.

The ball barely touched their hands before Juno materialized out of nowhere to steal it back.

It was as if Juno was controlling the entire court on her own.

On the rare occasion they managed to get near the hoop, Juno ruthlessly swatted the ball out of the air.

Even the slowest players on the opposing team finally realized what was happening: Juno was toying with them like prey.

The International Trade girls couldn't take it anymore. They knew they had zero chance of winning.

"I'm done!" one girl snapped.

"She's just making monkeys out of us. We forfeit!"

There had always been rivalries between departments.

But now, the International Trade and Computer Science Departments were sworn enemies.

Hidden in the stands, Philip and Juliana Sherwood observed everything.

Juliana frowned. "Juno has a back issue. That girl clearly targeted her lower back on purpose."

Philip waved it off. "A little friction between kids is normal. But from the looks of it, the girl who threw the elbow is very close to Rhiannon."

Juliana nodded slowly. "Rhiannon might have been the one who told her."

They were both sharp individuals; they didn't need to spell it out to understand what was really happening.

Juliana looked to her husband for his opinion. "We were supposed to have dinner with the Corringtons after this. Should we still go?"

"Of course."

Juliana thought back on the scene, feeling unsettled. A girl that manipulative getting close to her son wasn't a good thing.

Juno dropped the ball and walked off the court.

Claire immediately hobbled over to check on her. "How are you doing? It looked really bad out there."
