Felicia spent the whole day putting the finishing touches on her prep for tomorrow’s financial summit.

Luke made sure not to bother her. He just hung out with Greg at the villa, gaming and chatting about work.

Out of nowhere, Greg asked, “Do you know Darin?”

Luke’s fingers froze on the controller. “He’s close with Max. Andrea’s brother, right? You met him five years ago. Why?”

Greg leaned back, thoughtful. “Sunlight Tech got bought by IronGate Industries this year. We were about to sign a deal with Greenway Electrical Services for the GN project, but now Sunlight Tech is trying to get in on it. So, things are up in the air.”

Sunlight Tech used to be an industry leader, way before Greenway made its name. But then their R&D hit a dead end, and some drama at the top sent the company downhill.

This year’s acquisition really shocked everyone in the field.

Greg didn’t see it as a great thing for Sunlight Tech, since IronGate had never touched tech before. But just a month after the buyout, Sunlight Tech got a cash injection, made a big breakthrough, and even stole a project Greenway had been chasing for ages. Now the two companies were eyeing the same new deal.

And Sunlight Tech wasn’t messing around.

Greg heard Darin himself was running their team. Rumor was, IronGate had been a mess lately, with all kinds of power plays and backstabbing at the top. The Sunlight Tech deal was Darin’s first step in grabbing control.

Anyone who was tight with Max wasn’t going to be easy to deal with.

Luke set his controller down, looking at Greg. “Sounds like you’re up against a real challenge this time.”

Greg just grinned. “I’ve weathered a lot worse.”

Still, judging by Felicia’s mood these days, love was probably the last thing on her mind.

Well, some things just needed time.

When Felicia finally finished her work, she joined them for a quick game.

Later, Rose called Luke and insisted he come home to the family house for the night. He couldn’t get out of it, so he didn’t stay for dinner at the Ross place.

Felicia walked him out to the car. She knew he was headed to the estate, so she handed him a pink gift bag.

Luke took it, smiling. “Anne’s going to love this.”
