"That's good to hear," Felicia replied.

After a few seconds of quiet, Jeremy spoke up. "I won't disturb you any longer. Take good care of yourself and make sure you get plenty of rest."

After hanging up, Felicia let out a long, heavy sigh. Suddenly, the soft coos of her baby broke her out of her thoughts. She turned around to see Max, who had walked in with Julian at some point.

"Is Julian hungry?" Felicia asked.

Max approached and gently handed the baby over. Felicia took him into her arms, adjusting her clothes to begin nursing. Max sat down quietly beside her, remaining completely silent.

Noticing his brooding demeanor, Felicia raised an eyebrow. "What is with you now?"

"Nothing," Max replied flatly.

"Nothing? You are practically scowling," she pointed out.

Max shot her a complicated look but still refused to answer. His stubborn, foul temper truly hadn't changed in the slightest.

"After Jeffrey hypnotized me to lose my memory, you deliberately kept me from remembering the truth, didn't you?" Felicia stated calmly.

Hearing this, Max's pupils trembled as he stared at her. Back then, he had briefly suspected that her memories had returned, but since she hadn't shown any unusual reactions over the past few months, he had dismissed it as his own paranoia. Looking at her now, he realized she truly had remembered everything.

"I just wanted you to focus entirely on your pregnancy without unnecessary stress," Max finally admitted, his voice low.

"You certainly know how to make excuses for yourself," Felicia scoffed.

Max leaned in close, wrapping his arm possessively around her waist. He pressed a soft kiss to her ear and murmured, "It isn't an excuse. I am telling you the truth."

Felicia rolled her eyes playfully. Suddenly, Julian choked slightly on his milk. Felicia immediately adjusted her posture, gently patting the baby and coaxing him softly. "Be a good boy, sweetie."
