After they wrapped up, it was almost noon. Felicia invited Sam out to lunch, and over their meal, they chatted a bit more. The biggest issue now was the other side. Lunch ended, and they walked out of the restaurant together. Right outside, they bumped into Wyatt.

Wyatt spotted Felicia and greeted her first. “Evelynn.”

She nodded politely. “Mr. Gilbert.”

As Wyatt headed inside with his colleague, the other man glanced back and muttered, “Wyatt, that girl is stunning. Whose wife is she? She looks like she’s about to walk away with a fortune.”

Wyatt frowned. “What makes you say that?”

“Come on. She was with Sam. That guy only handles huge divorces, and the settlements always start with at least ten zeroes.”

Max stayed silent.

Wyatt kept going. “You know that Sam guy’s a legend with divorces. Only takes the biggest cases, and he almost never loses.”

Max paused, a small, unreadable smile flickering at his lips. “You sure know a lot about divorce lawyers. Planning something I should know about?”

Wyatt laughed. “Don’t be ridiculous. My wife and I are rock solid.”
