Felicia lifted Anne out of the car, then took her small hand as they walked toward the front entrance together.

Colton spotted Anne from afar and couldn’t help but nudge Ava, his voice full of excitement. “Look at her, isn’t she just cute?”

Ava nodded, her gaze soft. “She really is. She even has a bit of Felicia’s look.”

Felicia called out as they approached. “Dad, Mom, Greg, this is Anne.”

Anne didn’t seem shy at all in front of all these new faces. Her sweet and gentle voice rang out as she greeted them. “Hello.”

That soft little voice was enough to make anyone melt.

“Hello, Anne. Can I get a hug?” Greg crouched down so he was eye to eye with her.

“Of course,” Anne replied, reaching out her arms.

Greg scooped her up, grinning.

Colton smiled, “Let me have a hug too.”

Anne turned to him and shook her head gently. “Your leg is hurt, so you can’t carry me.”

Colton’s smile only grew warmer. “See how thoughtful she is? Come on in, let’s not just stand out here.”

Inside, the nanny was sitting on the sofa holding Sean. Ava went over and took the baby in her arms.

Felicia introduced them. “This is my little brother. Anne, you should call him your little uncle.”

Anne blinked, her eyes wide with curiosity, a little confused.

Ava laughed softly. “You might not get it now, Anne, but you’ll understand one day.”

The family had prepared a mountain of gifts for Anne. Ava gave her a pair of bracelets, a doll, some pretty little dresses and shoes, even a whole set of sparkly hairbands and diamond clips. Greg gifted her a cute little AI robot with a round head. Colton, unsure what a little girl would like, had simply handed over a giftcard.

Anne accepted everything with a big, polite thank you.

Colton watched her, his heart swelling with pride. She was just as lovely as Felicia had been at her age.

Felicia turned to Greg. “Can you grab the things from my trunk?”

Heather had seen photos of Anne before, but meeting her in person was something else. She was even more beautiful, almost breathtaking. Felicia and Max really did have amazing genes.

Felicia introduced Anne and Yara to each other. They were about the same age, both outgoing and cheerful. Yara even brought Anne a little gift.

It didn’t take long for the two kids to hit it off and start chatting away like old friends.

Jeremy leaned in close to Felicia, his voice low. “I’m surprised Max allowed you to bring Anne over.”

Felicia smiled. “Anne really wanted to come, that was the main reason.”

Max doted on Anne. He couldn’t stand to see her upset.

Jeremy watched Anne for a moment, nodding. “She’s a great kid.”

Felicia’s eyes were warm with pride. “She really is.”

Felicia stepped into the kitchen to chat with the staff, making sure they knew about Anne’s lunch preferences.
