Andrea’s face went from bad to worse at Felicia’s words. She looked up at the man beside her, hoping for support.

Max glanced down at her. “Andrea, why don’t you head inside first.”

Andrea bit her lip, clearly upset, and shot Felicia a glare before walking away.

Max turned his attention back to Felicia. Under the bright lights, his sharp features looked even more striking, but his eyes stayed cold and unreadable.

“For the past five years, when Anne needed her mom, where were you?”

Felicia’s eyes narrowed. So he was blaming her for all the rumors Anne had heard.

He kept going. “You should focus on yourself, Felicia. Think about how to make things right with Anne, instead of dragging her around to meet random men.”

Felicia’s anger was boiling over. “Max, you’re seriously unbelievable.”

Max’s face didn’t change. He stayed calm and collected. “I don’t want to see you taking Anne to another man’s place again.”

Felicia’s hands curled into fists.

So just because she’d been gone for five years, he thought he could stand there and judge her forever.

“Max, you get to date Andrea, but I’m not allowed to see anyone else?”

“You can try if you want.”

His voice was still flat, but his eyes turned even colder.

Felicia leaned in, her voice sharp. “So you teamed up with investors to dump Silva Capital’s stock. Was that on purpose?”

Before he could answer, a little voice interrupted them.

“Daddy!”

Felicia’s heart jumped. She looked up and saw Anne running over, with Savannah right behind her.

Max turned and walked over, scooping Anne up in his arms.

“Daddy, you’re eating here too?”

Max nodded. “Did you have a good day?”

Anne nodded back, smiling. “Yeah, it was fun.”

Felicia shrugged. “Nothing major. Did you order already?”

Heather nodded. “Yeah, we’re just waiting for you.”

“Great. Then we’re good.”

After dinner, no one felt like shopping anymore.

Heather got ready to take Yara home to the Ross house.

They said goodbye to Savannah, then Felicia and Heather took Anne and Yara back with them.

Back home, Ava greeted them.

Felicia smiled. “Ava, I got you a new dress. Come see if you like it.”

Ava rolled her eyes. “Why are you always buying me dresses? I haven’t even worn the last one you gave me.”

Felicia laughed. “It was cute, so I bought it. You can wear a different one every day. There’s plenty of chances.”
