“A couple of days ago,” Jeremy said.

Gavin nodded, letting it go. He turned to Felicia. “Evelynn, go freshen up. I’m taking you out to pick a dress. Tonight, I swear, you’ll be the most beautiful girl in the room.”

Felicia didn’t look at Max again. She just replied, “Alright,” and headed upstairs.

Gavin grinned at Max. “So, Max, you came for Evelynn? Listen, she’s over you. You should really hurry up and sign those divorce papers. Don’t get in the way of my happily ever after. I’m seriously in a rush here.”

Max shot him a cold look and walked out without a word.

“Max!” Gavin called after him, but Max didn’t stop.

After Max was gone, Jeremy asked, “What kind of event are you taking Evelynn to tonight?”

Gavin answered, “Just a networking party.” Seeing the way Jeremy and Luke looked at him, he quickly added, “Don’t worry, it’s completely proper. I just wanted to take her out for a bit of fun.”

“That’s good,” Jeremy said. “Actually, I have a small favor to ask. Do you think you could get me another ticket?”

Gavin hesitated, obviously unsure.

Jeremy went on, “Evelynn is your date tonight. I’ll just be there to keep an eye on things.”

Gavin was silent for a beat, then gave in. “Alright, fine.”

Luke immediately said, “I’ll go too.”

Gavin glanced at Luke and let out a helpless laugh. “You are acting like I’m selling Evelynn off or something.”

Luke smiled. “Come on.”

Gavin finally relented. “Alright, let’s exchange numbers. When you get there tonight, just call me.”

“Thank you,” Jeremy said.

Jeremy saved Gavin’s contact info.

Felicia shook her head. “Not really.”

Gavin sighed, sounding disappointed. “Too bad. Guess I missed out on some drama.”

Felicia looked at him. “If you like drama that much, you could just stay home and watch TV all day.”

Gavin grinned. “Watching TV dramas is fun, but watching Max get knocked down a peg is even better. The guy is so arrogant. Sometimes I just want to punch him and see him cry.”

Felicia couldn’t even picture that. It was impossible to imagine.

“If you want to see that, why don’t you just hire someone to kidnap him and make him cry?”

“I’d love to, but he’s tough. I’d probably get myself killed.”

Felicia rolled her eyes. “You’re such a coward, but you still want to enjoy the drama.”

Gavin shrugged. “Hey, a guy can dream, right?”
