The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 431

Anne couldn’t stop talking about going skiing. Max, as usual, had everything planned out on his end. But for Felicia, it meant scrambling to find something last minute online. She managed to book a fancy hot spring hotel right next to a ski resort.

Felicia didn’t have her own ski gear, so she’d have to rent everything at the resort. Anne, though, had packed her stuff days ago and was all set. Honestly, Felicia felt a little overwhelmed at the thought of taking Anne by herself. Ski trips were always better with more people around. So she called Heather, who was instantly on board.

“Should I ask Greg to come too?” Heather sounded excited. “And maybe you can check if Jeremy’s free?”

Felicia shook her head. “He probably won’t have time today.” Jeremy had a big event to attend that afternoon, and after being away in New York, his work had piled up.

Heather let out a regretful sigh. “Alright, I’ll call Greg then.”

“Perfect.”

Heather called Greg right away. Ever since his company signed that huge investment agreement, he’d barely had a moment to himself. Even this morning, he’d gone straight to the office. Luke happened to be there with him when Heather called, and after a quick debate, the two guys decided to drop everything for some much-needed time off.

Heather couldn’t resist calling Jeremy one more time. “Hey, what’s more important, work or your love life?”

Jeremy already knew about the ski trip. “Just have fun, okay?” he said, clearly smiling.

Heather was on a roll. “Listen, Felicia might not be divorced yet, but you need to be ready. I seriously think she’s starting to like you. As soon as she’s single, you two could finally happen. You should take a page out of Luke’s book and be a little more proactive.”

Jeremy laughed. “Alright, I hear you. If I get a chance tomorrow, I’ll swing by.”

Felicia got Anne ready for bed, helping her wash up and get into her pajamas. As soon as Anne was under the covers, she grabbed Felicia’s phone and called Max for a video chat.

Felicia retreated to the bathroom to dry her hair. Over the sound of the hairdryer, she could just make out Anne’s excited shouts, calling for her dad. She figured they were just talking on the call. But when she switched off the dryer, she heard something else—actual laughter, echoing from the bedroom.

Startled, she stepped out and stopped in her tracks. Max was there, right in the room, with Anne perched on his shoulders, giggling as he spun her around. He looked so gentle, every bit the loving dad.

How did he even find them? Anne hadn’t called him once after they’d set off. Then it clicked. Of course, Anne’s smartwatch probably had a GPS tracker built in.

Felicia stayed where she was, quietly watching them. Max set Anne down on the bed, then looked over at Felicia. She’d just showered and was wearing a thin pajama set that showed off the lines of her figure. Her cheeks were still pink from the steam, giving her a soft, glowing look.
