The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 460

Felicia’s eyes cleared with sudden understanding. “Okay, I get it.”

The scandal online disappeared almost as quickly as it started, like someone had never wanted it to blow up in the first place.

Luke’s brother Daniel called. He’d just gotten back from abroad, barely checked in at the hotel. Right after, he got the hotel manager on the phone and told them to handle the paparazzi and reporters as fast as they could.

Soon Daniel was downstairs, knocking on the door.

Luke opened up and saw him. “Hey, Daniel.”

Daniel looked every bit the part of the serious older brother, sharp-featured and handsome, with gold-rimmed glasses that made him look even more intimidating. He barely cracked a smile.

He glanced at Luke, then his eyes flickered over Felicia behind him. “Is there someone else here?”

Luke nodded.

Daniel turned to his assistant. “Take care of it.”

“Yes, sir,” the assistant said quietly.

Finally, Felicia and Luke could leave the room.

Felicia managed a polite greeting. “Mr. Hawthorne.”

She hadn’t seen Daniel since she got back to the country, not even at the Gilbert family dinner. He’d probably been swamped with work overseas.

Daniel just nodded. He turned to Luke. “So, what happened?”

Luke quickly filled him in.

Daniel said, “I’ll have someone wipe the story from the internet.”

Luke agreed. Light Chaser was already working on it, but if his brother wanted to help, he wasn’t going to say no.

“Any idea who’s behind it?” Daniel asked.

“It’s nothing,” Felicia said.

She walked over with Luke and gave Wyatt a small, polite smile. She didn’t look at Max at all, not even a nod to acknowledge him.

“Hi Felicia,” Wyatt greeted her, cheerful and completely clueless about the drama that had just happened online.

Felicia nodded.

Luke jumped in quickly. “Felicia and I have something we need to do. I’ll leave you guys to catch up.”

He’d noticed how uncomfortable Felicia was. He couldn’t just leave her awkwardly standing there alone.

So, Luke led her away, finding a spot at the edge of the room where they could sit together. From a distance, the way they talked so comfortably, anyone watching would guess there was more between them.

Felicia hadn’t planned on sticking around for lunch, but now she wanted to wait until it was over and see if she could figure out who was responsible for everything.

The scandal that had blown up online only minutes ago was already wiped clean. Searching for it now, there were barely any traces left—just one or two stray articles lingering, and even those looked like they’d disappear soon.
