Max grabbed Felicia’s arm.
She came to an abrupt stop.
Right then, two coworkers leaving for the night waved her way. “Evelynn!”
Felicia quickly yanked her hand back.
The two recognized Max and greeted him politely. “Mr. Hawthorne.”
Max nodded in return.
“Thanks for the snacks tonight, Evelynn. They were really good.”
Felicia had just asked her assistant to hand them out. She gave a small, polite smile. “It’s late. You both should get home.”
“Will do.”
The two exchanged a glance, clearly curious about why Max was hanging around so late, but decided not to ask. They said goodbye and headed off.
“You didn’t have any yourself?” Max asked.
Felicia shot him a look and walked away.
This time, Max let her go.
She made it to her car but then stopped, turning to glare at the man trailing after her. “Max, what is wrong with you? Why are you following me?”
He sounded totally calm. “I’m hungry too. Let’s eat together.”
Felicia’s frown deepened. “Max, are you even listening? Why would I ever want to have dinner with you?”
He went on like she hadn’t said a word. “If you don’t want to drive, just come with me.”
Felicia stared at him, at a loss for words.
She took a steadying breath, pulled out her phone, and called the police.
“Hi, someone’s been following me. Can you send someone over to help?”
Max nodded and took his phone back.
Felicia kept her face stony, and while Max and the officer were talking, she turned and hurried off. She got in her car and locked the doors right away.
As she drove off, she caught a glimpse of Max standing on the steps, the wind tugging at his coat.
Max watched her car disappear. A moment later, his driver pulled up, and he got in.
Felicia drove straight to the restaurant, her anger burning so hot it almost made her forget she was hungry in the first place.
Once she parked, she took a second to collect herself, then headed inside.
Jeremy was already there, waiting for her.
“Sorry I’m late,” she said.
“No worries, I just got here too. Let’s order. See what you’re in the mood for.”
Felicia picked a couple of dishes from the menu.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
