The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 471

The morning was cozy, the family all gathered around the breakfast table. Anne was telling Colton and Ava some story, making them burst out laughing. Little Sean, cradled in Ava’s arms, was giggling and babbling away, trying to join in with everyone else.

Felicia caught herself smiling. These little moments always made her heart feel full.

Just then, the housekeeper poked her head in. “Ms. Ross, your phone is ringing.”

Felicia got up, headed to the living room, and fished her phone from her purse. Savannah’s name flashed on the screen. She picked up, and as she listened, her face changed.

“I’ll be at the office right away,” she said, voice brisk.

She hung up and went back to the dining room. “Dad, Mom, something urgent came up at work. I have to go in now. Mom, can you take Anne to kindergarten later?”

Colton and Ava saw how rushed she was and didn’t ask for details.

Felicia leaned down and hugged Anne. “Be careful, Mommy,” Anne said, her little voice serious.

Felicia smiled, kissed her daughter’s forehead, and hurried out.

As she drove through the neighborhood gates, she didn’t notice the white sedan parked across the street. Inside, a middle-aged man watched her closely, his eyes narrowed.

After Felicia’s car disappeared, the man got out and walked toward the security guard at the gate. “Excuse me, does someone named Colton Ross live here?”

The guard eyed him, cautious. “Who are you?”

“I’m a friend of his,” the man answered quickly.

“You’ll need to call Mr. Ross so I can confirm your identity,” the guard said.

“Oh, sure, no problem,” the man replied, then turned back to his car. He lit a cigarette and, noticing the guard was still watching, pulled out his phone and pretended to make a call.

He settled in and waited.

After about ten minutes, the guard saw he was still there and started walking over. Just then, another car pulled up to the gate. The guard saluted and tapped on the rear window.

After dropping Anne off, Ava walked back toward the car, keys in hand. As she opened the door, she heard someone call out, “Ava, I knew it was you!”

She froze, her hand still on the handle. Turning, she saw the middle-aged man walking toward her. He was thin, his features sharp and pronounced, eyes sunken and cold.

Even after all these years, she’d never forget that face.

Wilfred.

Her ex-husband.

So he was the one who’d been following them.

As Wilfred came closer, Dean stepped out, positioning himself between them. “Who are you?” Dean asked, voice icy.

Wilfred grinned, eyes fixed on Ava. “Ava, you really have changed. Looks like being a rich man’s wife suits you. You’re even more beautiful than you were when you were young. I almost didn’t recognize you.”
