The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 476

When it came to reading people, Max was in a league of his own. Outsmarting him wasn’t something just anyone could pull off.

Jeremy turned his head and stared out the window, his dark eyes distant, lost in thoughts no one else could guess.

Meanwhile, Anthony’s post on social media stirred up a storm. People who actually knew the group didn’t buy for a second that Evelynn had sent him roses.

A comment popped up under the post.

“Mr. Murray, you showing off with Mr. Milman’s flowers now?”

Anthony shot back, “If you don’t believe me, ask him yourself. These really are from Evelynn.”

Someone else chimed in. “Are you blackmailing Evelynn or something? She skipped Jeremy and sent them to you? Didn’t realize you were so sneaky.”

Anthony replied, “What’s that supposed to mean? How am I sneaky? Am I so much worse than Jeremy? Is he better looking or something?”

Savannah joined in. “If you don’t have a mirror at home, just find a puddle. If that’s not enough, I’ll send you one for free. Take a good look at yourself tonight.”

Anthony scrolled through all the comments, half annoyed, half amused. It was ridiculous, but he couldn’t help laughing.

At dinner, someone brought it up again, teasing him about the whole thing. Nobody believed Evelynn would give him flowers and not Jeremy.

Anthony glanced at the man next to him, who was swirling a glass of wine. “I’ll admit you’re a little better looking than me, but it’s not as extreme as everyone’s saying, right?”

Jeremy glanced over. “People can see the truth.”

“Sure, you’re the handsome one. Still single, though.”

Jeremy shot him a dark look.

Anthony just shrugged and turned the conversation back to business, steering things away from the joke.

When dinner ended, they all left the private room. In the hotel lobby, they bumped into another group, led by Max himself.

Anthony opened his mouth to reply, but Jeremy cut in. “Then why are you pushing so hard, Mr. Hawthorne?”

Max let out a cold laugh. “I don’t give away what’s mine.”

“Felicia isn’t something you own, Mr. Hawthorne. You don’t get to decide who she’s with.”

Max looked at Jeremy, his eyes dark and quiet, a cold, mocking smile on his lips. He didn’t bother to answer. He just got into his car and shut the door.

The car pulled away slowly.

The people left standing there had all felt the tension, even if they didn’t really get what was going on. The last few words made it sound like the two men were going toe to toe over a woman.

Curious as they were, nobody wanted to ask.

After saying their goodbyes, Jeremy and Anthony headed to their own car, the tension from the encounter lingering in the air.
