If Heather ever found out, she and Trey would just start fighting all over again. Back when they were getting divorced, it was Yara who took it the hardest. “I know.”

“Did Max tell you about the CoreTech deal?”

Felicia gave a small smile. “You called it, Jeremy. I wanted to say no, but honestly, turning it down feels like losing out.”

“Roen Capital doesn’t need Max’s handouts,” Jeremy said, his tone firm.

Felicia kept quiet about the TC Project for now. She needed to figure that out on her own before looping Jeremy in.

“But we can’t just let Andrea et away with it this time.”

“Darin will always have her back.”

Max’s offer sounded like it had nothing to do with Andrea, but she could see he was just hoping she would drop the issue.

What Felicia didn’t know was that Jeremy had already been in touch with the Curtis family, making it clear they’d need to give him a real answer if they wanted to keep working together.

Felicia stepped out of Jeremy’s office.

A moment later, his phone rang. It was his mom, Shannon. He picked up. “Hey Mom, what’s going on?”

“What’s happening between you and that Evelynn?” Shannon asked, her voice sharp.

Jeremy’s brows drew together. “Why are you asking about that all of a sudden?”

“Her husband called the house. Your father is furious, Jeremy. And from the sound of it, that man isn’t planning to divorce her any time soon.”

“Mr. Milman.” Max sounded like he’d been waiting for this call.

“Do you really think you’re doing the right thing?” Jeremy’s voice was icy.

“I’m just giving you a friendly warning,” Max replied. “You should have higher standards, not chase after another man’s wife. It’s really beneath you.”

Jeremy’s voice was sharp. “That’s rich, coming from you. A man who can’t even be loyal to his own wife, who treats her like she doesn’t matter. Your warnings don’t mean a thing.”

Max gave a low, almost amused laugh. “I’ve said what I need to. Take care of yourself, Mr. Milman.”

He hung up.

Jeremy’s grip on his phone tightened, his eyes cold and unreadable.
