Felicia smiled, her lips curving playfully. “You’re looking even more handsome these days.”

She barely finished the sentence before she felt a hand at her waist. Felicia stilled, glancing up at Max. The light in her eyes faded a little.

“You know, complimenting another man in front of me isn’t exactly my favorite thing,” Max said, his voice soft but edged with jealousy. His grip on her waist tightened, just enough for her to notice.

Felicia held his gaze without flinching, her expression calm as she looked into his dark, unreadable eyes.

Cian chuckled quietly. “Evelynn’s just telling it like it is. Well, this is the first time I’ve seen Max jealous. It’s pretty entertaining.” He looked over at Wyatt as he spoke.

Wyatt grinned. “Just wait, there’s bound to be more drama with these two.”

“Yeah? I can’t wait to see it,” someone else chimed in, laughter in their voice.

Max turned his attention back to Cian and Wyatt. “You two have way too much time on your hands.”

Wyatt just shrugged. “Hey, nobody works twenty-four seven. Gotta have time to sit back and watch the show.”

Max’s eyes flicked to Cian. “That actress you were seeing… it’s only been, what, two months? I saw her with someone new the other night. You really can’t keep a girl around, can you?”

He was talking about a business dinner where a CEO had shown up with the same actress Cian used to date.

Cian just laughed it off. “You’ve got me there. I can’t beat your charm, Max. You even managed to win over someone as amazing as Evelynn.”

“That’s just facts,” Max replied, a smirk tugging at his lips. “No need to sound like it pains you.”

Cian shook his head, half-laughing. “You know, you really are asking for a punch.”

Wyatt clapped Cian on the shoulder, grinning. “Don’t let him get to you. He’s begging for it, but I’m sure someone will put him in his place soon.”

Meanwhile, Felicia and Sydney had just settled into their seats.

“Hi, Sydney,” came a familiar voice.

Felicia paused, looking up to see Dannie approaching. Dannie wore a sleek, fitted satin gown, her straight hair falling around her shoulders and giving her an elegant vibe. She was followed by another young girl in a formal dress.

Sydney spotted her and waved her over. “Dannie, come here.”

Dannie walked over, her gaze settling on Felicia.

Sydney smiled at Felicia. “This is my cousin, Dannie.”

Felicia blinked in surprise. She hadn’t realized Dannie was part of the Folker family. They might not be quite as powerful as the Hawthornes or the Gilberts, but the Folkers were still one of the top families in the Capital. It said a lot about just how solid Dannie’s background really was.
