Anne looked up at her mom with a frown.
“Mom, why didn’t you sleep with me last night?”
Felicia smiled gently and reached over to smooth Anne’s hair.
“I had some work to do and went to bed late. I didn’t want to wake you up.”
Anne just nodded, accepting the answer.
“Come on, let’s have breakfast,” Felicia said.
By ten in the morning, Felicia and Heather were getting ready to leave.
Yara was still having the time of her life and decided to stay at the manor for a few more days. She'd fly home with Anne later.
Max pulled Felicia aside as they were leaving.
“I’ll be heading back with Anne in a couple of days. Let me know when you land,” he said.
He still had some business to finish before he could leave.
Felicia just nodded and said her goodbyes to Anne and the rest.
Once they were in the car, Heather shot Felicia a sideways glance.
“You know, Max is acting exactly like the perfect husband right now.”
She couldn’t help but admit it. Max really did look like the ideal family man these days.
How could you not fall for someone like that? He was handsome, rich, treated his daughter like a princess, and had just thrown that huge birthday party. Even if he’d hurt Felicia before, you could feel the change in him. Most women wouldn’t stand a chance.
Some hurts just fade faster than others, especially when your heart wants to forgive.
Felicia stared out the window, her face calm and unreadable.
Right now, what she really wanted to know was… Who exactly did Max meet last night?
“Felicia, are you zoning out?” Heather’s voice broke through her thoughts.
Felicia blinked and turned to her.
“No, nothing. You’re right, though… Max really knows how to keep up appearances.”
Heather raised an eyebrow.
“So he’s different in private?”

When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
