Felicia’s brows knitted together as she glared at him.
Max glanced over at Kruz, who had hesitated a few steps away. Their eyes met for just a second before Kruz turned and strode off without another word.
Turning back, Max looked at Felicia. “What are you mad at me for this time?”
Felicia’s face clouded over. She let out a short, bitter laugh, sinking into her chair. “Don’t act like there’s anything real between us,” she said, her tone icy.
Max watched her, studying the sharp angle of her jaw, the way she always managed to look completely untouchable.
Neither of them spoke for a while.
His eyes felt like lasers slicing through her. It made her skin crawl. Felicia faced him fully, matching his stare. His gaze was so piercing it seemed to see right through her, and for a split second, her chest tightened.
Then, without warning, Max leaned in closer.
Feeling his presence suddenly so close, Felicia instinctively pulled back, every muscle tense. Before she could react, his long arm wrapped around her, pulling her against him.
She landed in his arms, pressed against his chest as effortlessly as if she weighed nothing. Felicia’s eyes went wide. “Max!” she blurted, startled.
He didn’t even flinch, only looked down at her with maddening calm. “Maybe say that a little louder, so you can get everyone’s attention,” he said, his voice low.
All around them, in the lounge area, people were drinking tea and chatting. Max’s arrival had already made a few heads turn their way.
Felicia tried to squirm out of his grip, lowering her voice. “Let go of me. Right now.”
After what felt like forever, Felicia turned to him. “If you’re done, please move. I want to go.”
Max didn’t so much as shift. Instead, he just kept staring, his gaze so dark it felt almost dangerous. “So this is it. You’re just going to keep running from everything?”
Felicia blinked, taken aback. “What are you talking about?”
“There are problems between us. That’s the truth. You don’t have to believe me, but giving me the silent treatment won’t fix a thing. Like it or not, until the day we sign the divorce papers, we’re still married.”
Felicia let out a sharp, humorless laugh. “Oh, fix things? Sure. Want to explain how you ended up carrying Andrea out of that hotel? Let me guess, it was just some innocent late-night chat under the covers?”
Max’s face didn’t so much as twitch. “Then show me the video.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
