Felicia fixed her gaze on him, silent for a long, tense moment.
When she finally spoke, her voice was laced with sarcasm. “You seriously don’t know what you did? Should I pull up the video receipts for you?”
Max kept his cool. “I’m not denying anything I actually did. But I won’t take the blame for things that never happened. If you have something to show me, then go ahead. Let’s see what kind of video proof makes you so sure there’s something between me and her.”
Felicia let out a humorless laugh, staring right at him. “Come on, Max. You used to spoil her rotten, like she was your whole world. Now she’s moving on and getting engaged to someone else, and you can’t handle it. Andrea’s still hung up on you. The two of you getting back together—it just makes sense, doesn’t it? Nobody’s making anything up.”
Max met her eyes without flinching. “Going over old ground gets us nowhere. I’ve said it before. I signed that agreement with you, so why would I do anything to embarrass myself? I have things in my life I need to sort out, that’s true. As for that night at the hotel, Darin and I were there looking for someone. It’s not how you imagine.”
He paused for a moment, looking off into the distance. “I can promise you, after this is settled, there’ll be nothing left between me and her.”
Felicia listened, her expression unreadable. “You don’t need to promise me anything. Whatever it is you’re trying to ‘fix’ with Andrea, you’re already involved again. That means you broke the agreement.”
Max turned, his voice going low. “So, what—you want a divorce now?”
Felicia shifted to face him, locking eyes with him. His gaze was intense and dark and almost suffocating.
He kept going. “If we get divorced, I will remarry. Just think about that for a second. Are you really ready to let Anne go? Ready for her to call some other woman ‘mom’?”
His breath was warm on her cheek.
“Are you done?” Felicia’s voice was cool, but there was a tremor under it.
Max looked down at her, letting go of her hand. “I can offer Roen Capital part of my Heathview shares.”
Felicia gave a small, cold smile. “How generous. I don’t need it.”
“It’s fine. Just think about it,” Max said. “Anything you need right now, whatever it is, I’ll do it.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
