The hotel was alive with laughter and celebration. Felicia and Jeremy had the best seats in the house, right at the main table. Colton, Ava, and Greg finally made their way back after making the rounds and toasting everyone. The whole room was buzzing. On a day like this, smiles were everywhere.

After the meal, Felicia and Savannah settled in for some girl talk. Across the table, Greg and Luke started chatting about work, and it was like they instantly clicked. These days, mixing AI with game development was the norm, but Luke’s new project was on a whole other level. The tech company he’d partnered with was top-notch and he’d offered them a great deal. Still, after a month of late nights and endless tweaks, they just couldn't nail what he wanted. The whole thing had been weighing on him.

But then, just a few minutes into talking with Greg, Luke’s face lit up. Suddenly, he had hope. He decided right then he’d go check out Greg’s company later.

Meanwhile, Jeremy and Greg were deep in conversation about company financing. Their third round of internal review was done, and they’d be able to sign the contract just after New Year’s. Colton was listening in, grinning from ear to ear. He lifted his glass for another toast, thanking Jeremy again.

Jeremy just smiled. “You don’t have to thank me. It’s not a favor. Roen Capital sees a bright future with Greenway Electrical Services. We decided to invest only after a thorough review. Down the road, we’re counting on Greenway to make us all some money. It’s a win-win.”

Colton laughed. “Exactly, a win-win!”

He was so happy he kept drinking, no matter how much everyone tried to slow him down. It was a rare day off, after all.

Later, Felicia, Savannah, Jeremy, and Anthony spent the afternoon playing poker. Felicia couldn’t sit for too long, so Ava stepped in for her. Colton, already a bit tipsy, was sleeping it off upstairs. Greg and Luke headed out to Greenway Electrical Services to check out some things.

By six in the evening, the wedding banquet was officially over. Colton and Ava walked their guests out one by one. That night, there was going to be a fireworks show and a drone performance down by the river. Ava was worried about Felicia going out, especially since she was so far along. Savannah waved her off. “Ava, relax. The five of us have got her covered. There’s no way anything’s going to happen. We’ll make sure Felicia gets home safe and sound.”

Darin glanced back, searching for a familiar face, but whoever he thought he saw was already gone. He shook his head. “It’s nothing.”

He said goodbye to his host and headed out to his car. Just then, his phone rang. Andrea was calling.

“Hey, we’re waiting for you. Come on, hurry up.”

“I’m on my way.”
