The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 806

Felicia jolted in sheer panic. Turning around, she saw the man striding into the steamy room. Terrified, she quickly spun away, crossing her arms over her chest while blindly reaching for the towel on the rack. But before she could even take a full step, a strong arm effortlessly snaked around her waist.

In the next second, she was pulled against a broad, scorching chest. Even through the thin fabric of his clothes, his body heat felt intense enough to burn her damp skin.

"You... mmph!"

The man's kiss crashed down on her with frantic, ravenous urgency, completely invading her senses. His powerful arms locked her in an iron grip, making any struggle entirely futile. The man's presence grew heavier, his demanding aura overwhelming her completely. The water continued to cascade down, filling the air with thick, swirling mist. Felicia felt as if she were drowning in the depths of a dark ocean, entirely stripped of air.

"Max..." she gasped out his name, her voice weak, frail, and trembling uncontrollably.

Burying his face in the crook of her neck, the man could clearly feel her body shivering. He lowered his voice, coaxing her in a deep, hypnotic murmur. "Relax. I will not hurt you. Just slowly try to accept what your body feels. Do not be afraid."

His rich, velvety voice constantly whispered enchantments against her ear. Felicia's fingernails dug so deeply into his shoulders they nearly pierced his skin, and tears rolled uncontrollably down her flushed cheeks. Unwanted flashes of traumatic memories began violently flashing through her mind.

"No... please, no!"

But the man, entirely consumed by the moment, was far beyond the point of letting her go.

It was not until an hour later that the storm finally settled. Max gathered the exhausted woman into his arms and carried her to the guest bedroom next door.

The following morning...

"Daddy! Mommy!" Anne's bright, crisp voice shattered the tranquil morning silence.

Max's consciousness slowly drifted back.

Click.

The bedroom door opened. The nanny's nervous voice immediately followed. "Miss Anne, please..."

"You are awake." His deep baritone sounded noticeably softer and more gentle than usual.

Felicia let out a faint murmur of acknowledgment from the back of her throat, lacking the energy to even open her mouth to speak.

The man continued with his instructions. "Get up and have some lunch. And remember to drink your medicine."

Felicia remained silent and ended the call.

After hanging up, Max tossed his phone onto the desk. He looked across at the man sitting opposite him, a faint, mocking smirk playing on his lips. "Stop staring at me like that."

Darin sat there, his dark eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. His piercing gaze was locked entirely on the exposed skin at Max's collar. Clear teeth marks were visible on the side of his neck, along with unmistakable red bruises trailing down toward his collarbone. In an instant, Darin's expression darkened into a lethal storm. His fingers curled into tight fists, the veins on his forearms bulging against his skin as his breathing grew harsh and ragged.

Noticing the lethal glare, Max made absolutely no attempt to hide the marks. Instead, he stretched one arm casually across the back of the sofa, adopting a posture of pure, unbothered arrogance. Raising an eyebrow, he asked, "What is with that look?"
