Julia, since you were the one who struck first, were you ready to face the consequences?

At Windermere Hills, Wesley sat back on the sofa with his legs crossed, holding a glass of red wine in one hand.
His assistant, Oscar Marshman, hurried in and placed a stack of documents in front of him.
“This is everything I’ve gathered about the girl from that night. There’s something strange. All records from the five years she spent on Ravenmind Island seemed to have been deliberately erased. There’s nothing left at all.”
Wesley slowly flipped through the file. The further he read, the deeper his frown became. “She’s the daughter the Sowles just found?”
“She’s Dr. Sowle’s younger sister,” Oscar explained with a nod.
“She enrolled today at Marcrest High, Senior Class C. According to the records, Ms. Sowle never attended middle school, yet she chose to enter directly into 11th grade. That part is strange. There’s also no record of her studying medicine. It’s hard to imagine that a 17–year–old high school student was the one who saved you that night.”
Wesley’s long fingers tapped lightly against the table.
“Looks can be deceiving. Her medical skills are definitely above her brother’s. Those five years on Ravenmind Island must be the key. Keep digging–deeper.”
“Mr. Robinett, there’s one more thing. I’m not sure if I should mention it,” Oscar said hesitantly.
It was obvious that Wesley had taken a special interest in this girl.
This was the first time Oscar had ever seen Wesley show interest in any woman.
“Oscar, just say it. Since when did you start hesitating like this?” Wesley said impatiently.
“Ms. Sowle is being cyberbullied right now. A video accusing her of pushing the Turners‘ daughter into the water was posted online. People also exposed that she only finished elementary school and spent five years in an asylum. Almost all the students at Marcrest High are demanding that she be expelled.”
Wesley was not someone who meddled in other people’s business, which was why Oscar had hesitated.
Wesley suddenly stood up and looked at Oscar coldly.
“Take care of it. Delete the post. Whether it’s true or not, she’s my lifesaver.”
Oscar nodded and left.
Since when had Mr. Robinett become so soft–hearted?
Using a life–saving debt as an excuse.

Chapter 14 Things Escalated
Oscar had been by Wesley’s side for years and had never seen a single woman near him.
For the first time, it seemed like Wesley was paying attention to someone.
But Larissa was still underage. Surely Wesley would not cross that line.
Nelson had not expected to receive a call from the school so soon after leaving.
When he saw the post, his heart ached.
So this was the suffering the Sowles‘ precious girl had endured where they could not see.
What kind of place was that Ravenmind Island?
Larissa had spent five years there.
It was impossible to imagine how a 12–year–old girl had survived in such a place.
Who dared to slander Larissa like this?
She must be feeling completely helpless right now.
No. He needed to get to Larissa immediately and protect her.
