Larissa stood up calmly. She brushed at her clothes as if there were dust on them, even though there

“I don’t know why you suddenly think you can challenge me or why you think you can mess with me. But if I were you, I’d keep my head down.”

Julia was covered in soup from head to toe. Her face turned red with anger. She raised her hand to slap Larissa.

Larissa moved fast. With one hand, she grabbed Julia’s wrist. With the other, she slapped her across the face.

“I don’t like hitting people,” she said evenly. “But you started it. Everyone saw that. This was self–defense.”

Julia froze for a second. Then she screamed.

“Larissa! How dare you hit me, you lowlife!”

Larissa took a tissue and slowly wiped her fingers, like nothing had happened.

“I hit you because you deserved it. If you don’t like it, keep it to yourself. Listen carefully, and don’t act smug before me again. If you do, I’ll slap you every single time.”

Julia held her cheek. Her hair and clothes were soaked. She looked miserable and humiliated.

Her eyes burned with hatred.

“Larissa, you’re finished! My dad won’t let you get away with this!”

Larissa laughed out in contempt.

“Your dad? Morris can’t protect you anymore. Don’t you get it? I’ll trample you for your whole life. You’ll never turn things around. If you’ve got more tricks, go ahead. I’m waiting.”

Julia trembled with rage.

“Don’t get so cocky, Larissa. I’ll make you pay. I’ll make your life a nightmare.”

Larissa crossed her arms and looked at her with disdain. “Sure. I’ll be waiting.”

The students around them slowly backed away. Things had changed.

Larissa and Julia were no longer who they used to be. They had switched their social standing.

Now, Julia was the one being crushed.
