Morris felt his chest tighten. “Otherwise what? Doctor, please tell me!”

The doctor sighed and said, “Otherwise, she may only have one month left.”

Sally nearly fainted when she heard that. Morris quickly caught her and helped her sit down.

“There’s good news,” he said with excitement. “The Wonder Doctor is in Marcrest right now. In two days, he’ll come to our hospital to give medical guidance.

“You’re very lucky. Whether the Wonder Doctor agrees to treat your mother will depend on how sincere you are.”

Hope returned to Morris’s eyes.

“That really is good news. Doctor, what should we do to convince the Wonder Doctor to treat my mother?”

The doctor thought for a moment.

“Kids shouldn’t ask so many questions,” he said quickly. “After I finish my work here, I’ll come to Marcrest too.

“And your SAT results were excellent. When I get there, I’ll hold a celebration dinner for you and officially announce that you’re my mentec.”
