Tom let out a deep sigh. He really felt for Larissa–she was such a pitiful girl.

With a father that biased, it was no wonder Larissa learned to fight back.

“Or was it when you taught me from day one that I always had to give in to Julia?

“Or was it when you forgot my birthday, every year? That’s your idea of kindness?

He asked, his voice tight, “Larissa, do you really not want your dad anymore?”

“That’s right. I don’t want you. Your fatherly love–your so–called family–means nothing to me.

“My real family now gives me more than you ever could.”

Larissa looked him right in the eye, her tone calm as she said the harshest words.

Morris looked at Larissa, deeply disappointed.
