Inside a private room of a restaurant, Lionel kept trying to pair Larissa and Wesley together whether it’s
on purpose or not.
Larissa made a point to avoid any contact with him.
But no one expected Lionel to suddenly say, “Tim, do you remember that promise we made when we were kids?
“Now we both have mentees, and they’ve grown up. Why not arrange for them to be married?
“I think they’d make a perfect couple–one handsome and charming, the other smart and kind. Truly made for each other!”
Tim was just about to grab some ribs when he heard this. He was so shocked that he dropped the ribs on the table.
“Lionel, why are you suddenly bringing this up?
“It’s the modern era now.
“Kids these days want to choose who they date. We shouldn’t force them.”
Wesley secretly glance at Larissa, a flicker of hope in his eyes.
Larissa’s face immediately turned bright red. She was both angry and annoyed.
How old am I? These people already wanted to marry me off!
Larissa glared at Tim, unhappy. If he said one wrong word, she promised she’d take back the card she just
got.
Tim immediately grabbed his pocket and hurriedly said, “Lionel, don’t say silly things. I don’t even remember any of that.”
For the sake of the black card in his hand, he had to respect his mentee’s wishes.
He wasn’t afraid of upsetting anyone–except Larissa.
When Larissa wanted to get back at someone, she’d smile in a very strange way.
By the next day, something bad would happen.
But Lionel wouldn’t give up.
“Tim, we made a promise back then. Let’s settle it. They can just spend some time together and see how it
goes.”
Tim looked at Larissa awkwardly, then at Wesley, not knowing what to do.
Larissa bit her lip, gathered her courage, and lifted her head.

“Mr. Lionel, these days people date whoever they want. Mr. Robinett and I don’t know each other very well, so it’s better to let us decide for ourselves.”
Wesley’s eyes flickered with a hint of disappointment, but he quickly smoothed it over.
Seeing that Larissa was firm, Lionel didn’t push anymore. He smiled and tried to ease the tension.
“Alright. Let the kids figure it out themselves. Who knows, maybe you two will end up together. But Larissa, you’ve to promise to give Wesley a chance. If not, you can still keep your distance.”
Theodore chimed in, “That’s right. She’s only eighteen. Isn’t it too early to be talking about this?”
He looked at them in disbelief. Larissa was so amazing. How could they even think about marrying her off so early?
She could have had a more exciting life, a bigger stage to shine on.
And yet, they were doing this.
How could he have thought that Tim was someone reliable?
Not giving Larissa money was one thing–but spending her money too?
