Everything seemed off, so unusual. How could he not have noticed?

Larissa sighed and nodded, but in her heart, she decided that once this storm passed, she’d make sure Tim canceled this whole marriage plan.
She used the chance to go to the restroom and left the private room.
Larissa walked quickly ahead, while Wesley followed behind at a calm, steady pace.
At the restroom door, Larissa came out after washing her hands and saw Wesley leaning against the wall, smoking. She raised an eyebrow.
This seemed like the first time she had ever seen him smoke.
“Mr. Robinett, are you waiting for me?
“Is there something you want to say?
“Did I not make myself clear before?
“Then I’ll say it again. I don’t want to get married to you.”
Wesley tossed the cigarette to the ground, stepped on it, and a small smile appeared on his lips.
“Larissa, don’t be so angry.
“I like you.
“I told you how I feel last time.
“Why are you still rejecting me?
“Is it because I’m not rich enough?
“Or not handsome enough?
“I can become anything you like, just give me a chance.
“This is the first time I’ve ever liked someone.”
Larissa snorted.
“Mr. Robinett, you’re impressive–the kind of guy every girl dreams about–but I still don’t feel that way about you.
“If I had to find an excuse to turn you down, it’s that you’re too old. Eight years older than me.
“That’s the biggest difference between us.”
Wesley took a step forward and stared at her, helpless.
Chapter 345 Rejection

“Are you really using my age as an excuse?
“Is it because you can’t find anything wrong with me, so you pick on my age?
“Larissa, are you just trying to annoy me on purpose?
“Can’t you slow down on the rejection? Give us a chance to get to know each other. Maybe you’ll find out you like me too.”
Larissa nodded calmly.
“You’re right. I’m doing it on purpose.
“Mr. Robinett, I’m just reminding you–we’re from completely different worlds.
“There’s no chance for us at all.
“After all, I’m only eighteen, and you’re twenty–six.
“If you want a younger girl, my family would never agree.”
Wesley was so annoyed by her words that he could practically grind his teeth. He wished he could just make her stop talking.
“Larissa, I’ll make you want to be with me.
“Once I set my mind on something, I don’t back down.”
Larissa had already left quickly.
They returned to the private room, one after the other.
Larissa had just sat down when her phone rang–it was Isaac calling.
“Larissa, where are you? It’s so late and you’re not home yet. I need to talk to you.”
Larissa suddenly realized that ever since coming to Eldercrown, she hadn’t had a proper meal with her family.
“Isaac, I’ll come back right away. Whatever it is, it’s easier to talk in person.”
