Chapter 36 Two Faces
Leonard explained calmly, “I want to introduce you to everyone.
“That way, if anyone tries to bully you again, they’ll think twice about whether they can afford
to offend us.”
Larissa had only planned to find a guardian for her final half year.
Anything beyond that was an unexpected bonus.
Still, going home didn’t sound bad at all.
That evening, the Turners gathered in the living room.
Morris, Priscilla, Julia, and Harlan were all there.
It was almost the same group as before. Jettson had already left for college, and Larissa was no longer part of the Turners.
Morris sat in the center of the sofa, his face serious.
“Everyone knows now that Larissa is the Sowles‘ long–lost daughter. We didn’t treat her well in the past, and some of what we did went too far.
“Her status is different now. She’s not someone we can easily offend anymore.
“But with Larissa’s personality, if no one provokes her, she won’t keep digging up old issues.
“From today on, I’m not asking you to be nice to her.
“But if you see her, say hello. At the very least, keep things peaceful on the surface.
“Remember this. Don’t provoke her.
“You haven’t done anything unforgivable to her, right?”
Morris stared at his children. For some reason, he felt uneasy.
He felt like something bad was about to happen.
Julia thought of that viral video. She had wanted to ruin Larissa’s reputation.
She never expected Larissa to be Leonard’s daughter.
Now that the Sowles were backing her, it was much harder to go after her.

Chapter 36 Two Fares
It was difficult to trace who was really behind things online. Larissa wouldn’t be able to touch her.
Priscilla, meanwhile, thought about how she had teamed up with other parents to demand Larissa’s expulsion from school. What would happen if Morris found out?
But what was done was done. Larissa was only a daughter the Sowles had just brought home. How deeply could they really care about her?
Most likely, they would pretend nothing had happened.
“What are those looks on your faces?” Morris snapped.
“Did you remember what I said?
“If you still want a peaceful life, put all those little schemes away.
“I’ll let the past go this once.
“But from now on, behave yourselves.
“If I find out any of you are still provoking Larissa or stirring up trouble, don’t blame me for being ruthless and kicking you out of this house.”
Morris often remembered the look in Larissa’s eyes when she left.
She must have hated them.
After all, many bad things had happened before she left.
Julia’s eyes were filled with resentment.
How could today’s humiliation be erased with just a few words?
She had to destroy Larissa’s reputation. She had to drive her out of Marcrest High.
Harlan and Julia exchanged a glance. They both understood each other without speaking.
They sibling wanted revenge.
Letting Larissa go was impossible.
They wouldn’t stop until she was forced out of Marcrest High.
Early the next morning, Larissa arrived at the classroom and put her head down to sleep.
