Chapter 50 The Top Score

Larissa was doing what she always did–sleeping with her head on the desk.

Helping Wesley with hypnosis the night before had drained her. She needed real rest.

The Faculty Office.

All the 12th–grade teachers were gathered in the shared office.

Chloe and Daphne both cared deeply about the midterm results, but for very different reasons.

Chloe wanted Larissa gone as soon as possible.

Joseph walked in with the score rankings in his hand.

Chloe stepped forward at once. “Mr. Potter, I want to know, how did Larissa do?”

Daphne also looked at him, clearly worried.

Joseph’s usually serious face broke into a rare smile. “Take a look for yourselves.”

At the top of the list was Larissa: 745 points. She ranked as the top scorer in the entire school.

The office went silent. The school had just produced a total game–changer.

She lost only five points in language class. Every other subject was a perfect score.

Someone like that had been mocked as a bad student.

If this were a statewide standardized exam on a 750–point scale, she would be a national top scorer.

This was the first time their school had ever seen a score this high.

Even now, Joseph felt like he was dreaming.

If a student like her were expelled from Marcrest High, it would be the school’s biggest loss.

This time, Larissa had completely shut down those parents who doubted her.

She was clearly meant for bigger things.

It was hard to imagine how she had done it.

No wonder she had chosen to enter directly into 12th grade.

She had the confidence to back it up.

Joseph could not help wondering, would Chloe regret her decision now?

After all, she had personally turned Larissa away before.

Chloe stared at the paper. Her face turned pale. Shock and regret filled her eyes.

She never imagined that the student she wanted to drive out would score this high.

“This can’t be real,” she said, her voice shaking.

No. Absolutely impossible.

She scored 30 points higher than Julia.

Didn’t Larissa only finish elementary school?

She never even went to middle school. How could she score like this?

Daphne, on the other hand, looked overjoyed. Her eyes were full of relief and pride.
